‘Chemical Imbalance’ Theory of Depression Hugely Profitable—and It’s Not Even True
Ignoring other causes of depression has left millions of Americans without truly effective treatment

“Lexapro appears to relieve the symptoms of depression and anxiety by increasing serotonin,” says an ad on the Bonkers Institute, a website that archives drug ads and also satirizes pharma claims and shaky science.
“Zoloft works to correct a chemical imbalance in the brain which may be related to symptoms of depression,” another ad says.
“Paxil CR blocks serotonin from being reabsorbed back into the sending nerve cell. This process increases the availability of serotonin to the receiving nerve cell and may help message [depression] transmission return to normal,” a third ad says.
As many Epoch Times readers may have heard, the serotonin “chemical imbalance” theory of depression was recently put to rest by a group of University College London (UCL) scientists in the journal Molecular Psychiatry. After reviewing decades of research, there’s no evidence that serotonin levels or serotonin activity are responsible for depression, they wrote. In other words, the theory that was the basis for selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants and their tremendously profitable franchise was false.
While the theory has been questioned by scientists for decades, the Molecular Psychiatry research seems to be the final nail in the coffin for the theory—a technical knockout.

Top Elf, US Attorney General Merrick Garland (or Garfinkel), is out of control (and he has been for a long time but the August 8, 2022 FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home is the match in the powder barrel). Garland (or Garfinkel) should resign now. If not, he will likely be fired by President Trump when he wins the US Presidential election for a third (3rd) time in 2024.
It’s now a lot easier, a heck of a lot easier, for a President to remove / fire federal employees who were appointed or nominated by a previous President. This is due to the US Supreme Court decision (June, 2021) in Patrick J. Collins, et al. v. Janet L. Yellen, Secretary of the Treasury, et al.
For example, in July of 2021 Biden fired the top Elf at the Social Security Administration, Andrew Saul (Commissioner), and pressured the Deputy Commissioner (David Black, another Elf) to resign. Saul refused to be fired and said he was going to continue clocking into work (remotely, this was back when Klaus Schwab was giving us our first free installment of the Great Reset and everything was closed and locked down) because he was appointed to a fixed term (by President Trump) which doesn’t end until 2025.
As you would expect (considering the above referenced June, 2021 US Supreme Court decision), when Saul tried to login to work (remotely) he found that he couldn’t because he no longer had a job (he was fired, as stated above).
Biden then presented an elf pet puppet named Kilolo Kijakazi (picture below) as acting Commissioner until he can find a replacement. She (Kijakazi) is still serving, more than a year later, as acting commissioner of the Social Security Administration.

Not only has Kari Lake won, she also won in every county in Arizona!
I usually try not to get too absorbed, engrossed or too engaged with Governor elections (primary or general) around the nation. Trump endorsed or not a lot of them seem willing to say anything it takes to get elected and their opinion appear to shift with the tides of both political and public opinion.
That being said, Kari Lake seems very genuine and unique. I believe if she also wins the general election this November for Governor of Arizona she will (though not limited to):
1. Decertify the 2020 US Presidential election
2. Secure the US / Mexico border in Arizona (and kick out immigrant invaders)
3. Oversee a fair 2024 US Presidential Election in Arizona (in which Trump will likely win, for the third (3rd) time)
4. Stand up against medical dictatorship (COVID-19 hype and involuntary vaccination)
5. Stand up against other hype such as global warming, global cooling, climate change
6. Support (at least to some very great extent) freedom of speech.

“Baizuo” (according to Wikipedia at the moment) is a popular political epithet commonly used on the Chinese Internet.
