Barack Obama’s grandmother Sarah Obama passed away earlier this year – Barack’s birther brother Malik Obama spoke at her funeral while Barack chose not to attend

Sarah Obama passed away on March 29, 2021 at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching & Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) in Kisumu, Kenya at age 99.

Her family stated that she died of “normal diseases” and that “she did not die of COVID-19.”  They add that she tested negative for the coronavirus.

Her funeral (pictures in this report / article) was the held the next day (March 30, 2021) under Islamic rites in the village of Nyang’oma Kogelo, Kenya.

Malik Obama (Barack’s half brother and well known birther) spoke at Sarah’s funeral:

Barack Obama did not attend the funeral nor has he traveled to Kenya to visit his grandmother’s grave.

Was Barack worried about COVID-19 or social distancing?   I doubt it.  He traveled to Martha’s Vineyard a couple of days for his 60th birthday celebration.  There were several hundred guests (and this was the “scaled back” celebration) at the indoor event (outside but inside a huge tent the size of a mansion).  Barack wasn’t wearing a mask or social distancing and neither were most of the guests:
