Wikileaks: The CIA can remotely hack into computers that aren’t even connected to the internet

When firewalls, network-monitoring services, and antivirus software aren’t enough, there’s always been one surefire way to protect computers that control sensitive operations like power grids and water pumps: cut them off from the internet entirely. But new documents published by WikiLeaks on June 22 suggest that even when such extreme measures are taken, no computer is safe from motivated, well-resourced hackers.

The 11 documents describe a piece of software called “Brutal Kangaroo,” a set of tools built for infiltrating isolated, “air-gapped” computers by targeting internet-connected networks within the same organization. It’s the latest publication in the “Vault 7” series of leaked documents, which describe myriad hacking tools WikiLeaks says belong to the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Brutal Kangaroo works by creating a digital path from an attacker to an air-gapped computer and back. The process begins when a hacker remotely infects an internet-connected computer in the organization or facility being targeted. Once it has infected that first computer, what the documents refer to as the “primary host,” Brutal Kangaroo waits. It can’t spread to other systems until someone plugs a USB thumb drive into that first one.

Once someone does, malware specific to the make and model of the thumb drive is copied onto it, hiding in modified LNK files that Microsoft Windows uses to render desktop icons, and in DLL files that contain executable programs. From this point, Brutal Kangaroo will spread further malware to any system that thumb drive is plugged into. And those systems will infect every drive that’s plugged into them, and so on, and the idea is that eventually one of those drives will be plugged into the air-gapped computer.

Fake News: Washington Post Claims Thomas Jefferson Held White House Iftar Dinner to ‘Celebrate Ramadan’

The establishment media became upset this weekend after President Donald Trump canceled the “White House Muslim Iftar Dinner tradition started by Thomas Jefferson.” But the media is wrong in every respect. Thomas Jefferson never held any Iftar dinner and only three out of 45 presidents ever hosted one, so there is no such “tradition” to cancel.

Amy B. Wang of the Washington Post led the pack with this nonsense that Thomas Jefferson held the “first Iftar dinner” with a June 24 piece entitled, “Trump just ended a long tradition of celebrating Ramadan at the White House.”

The often-used claim that Thomas Jefferson held the first Iftar dinner at the White House was trotted out by the Post’s Wang. She recounted the time when the diplomatic envoy from the Bey of Tunis, Sidi Soliman Melli Melli, visited Washington during Ramadan in 1805.

My comments on the story are as follows, assuming the ‘NOTHING BURGER’ core story reported here by the left-biased and lying Washington Post is largely true regarding Russia’s political activity prior to the November 2016 U.S. presidential election:

• Many countries, MOST CERTAINLY INCLUDING THE U.S.A., have sought in the past to influence the outcomes of elections in other countries. No big deal!
• Neither Trump nor his staff were involved in any of Russia’s activities related to the U.S. election.
• It’s very understandable to me that Putin much preferred Donald Trump (a pragmatist, populist and nationalist) over Hillary Clinton (a self-serving, corrupt warmonger) to be the forthcoming 45th U.S. president. I think Putin and his Russian staff did their best to help avert a looming and mutually disastrous WW-III which could quite possibly have occurred if Hillary was elected.  Thus, and quite logically, PUTIN CAME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION AS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WHO ELECTED TRUMP, about the DANGER of Hillary serving as president.
• I believe DNC staffer, Seth Rich, NOT some mythical ‘Russian Hacker’, was responsible for sending the damaging email leaks, involving John Podesta and other party officials, to Julian Assange at Wikileaks.  Seth Rich was subsequently MURDERED in Washington, DC on July 10, 2016. His murder was likely meant to serve as an example to other Democrats  who might be planning to leak sensitive information.
• It’s interesting and significant that the Democrats and their supporters can almost never be persuaded to discuss the SPECIFIC DAMAGING CONTENTS of the leaked Rich/Assange-sourced emails. However, they frequently and gladly dispense ‘fake news’ regarding the general topics revealed by the leaks. One example is the serious topic of Pizzagate/Pedogate which was revealed by the Podesta emails.

Confirming these stories, the Russian chief of state in his famed judo outfit answered: “DA!”

To every other question he answered, “NYET!”

This was Vladimir Putin’s effective way to end the confusion Americans have over the Trump-Putin Alliance after the president announced: “We have an unshakeable alliance with out brothers, the Russians. Ukraine has nothing to worry either about losing Crimea. My friend Vlad promised them Romania.”

CNN: “The story is damning of the president, whom it appears has completely gone to the other side. He is conspiring with America’s enemies who got him elected to surrender the United States and its assets to Russia.”

Putin looked at the reporters assembled from the US, REUTERS, AP and BBC wearing Obama 08 and “I’m With Her” lapel pins, laughed heartily, and slapped his knees with each chuckle. He pointed to his lapel pin that stated “MAGA!”

Why did the DNC refuse to let the FBI look at its servers?

The fact that last year the Democratic National Committee refused to allow the FBI to examine its servers after Democrats claimed Russia hacked into them during the election cycle has always bugged me.

It doesn’t seem like something the DNC would do if it really wanted justice to be done. Could this refusal to let the world’s most respected law enforcement agency examine its servers be part of some kind of cover-up? And what about the scandal surrounding Democrats hiring the Awan brothers? As the Daily Caller reported, “Hina Alvi, her husband Imran Awan, and his brothers Abid and Jamal were highly paid shared IT administrators working for multiple House Democrats until their access to congressional IT systems was terminated Feb. 2 as a result” of an investigation into “a major security breach on the House of Representatives computer network.”

Apparently, I’m not the only one wondering about this.

Former Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson brought up the strange DNC action before a congressional committee, prompting Rep. Louie Gohmert to weigh in.
