Excerpts:

The New York Times published an anonymous op-ed, purportedly penned by a “senior White House official” in the Trump administration.

Read the missive, and note that there are several clear “tells” in the piece – clues that indicate the motivations and leanings of the author, whoever the coward is.  And I will use that word, as someone with the character and fortitude claimed by the author would never write an anonymous piece, nor would he remain employed within an administration he so clearly despises.  The Times has called the author “he,” so I will assume a male is the person responsible

This first clue tells me that it is a member of the swamp, coming from the position that government is an entitlement belonging to an elite, never meant to be sullied by the hands of an “outsider.”

……………………………………………………………

The author says in his second paragraph:

It’s not just that the special counsel looms large. Or that the country is bitterly divided over Mr. Trump’s leadership. Or even that his party might well lose the House to an opposition hellbent on his downfall.

The emphasis is mine. A Republican would likely not say “his party,” but rather “our party” or “my party.”

I am of the opinion that this is likely an Obama holdover (of which there are still more than a hundred in the employ of the White House alone) writing as if he were in fact a disaffected member of the Trump inner circle when he is in truth a bitter refusenik still stinging from the rejection of November last.

I think I know why the NYT kept it anonymous.  “Disgruntled Obama holdover” doesn’t carry the same cachet as “anonymous senior member of the administration.”

The Greatest Sham on Earth

Stilton’s Place
by Stilton Jarlsberg
9/5/2018

Excerpt:

To the surprise of pretty much no one, the confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh erupted in shouts, shrieks, motions, emotions, and parliamentary nonsense before the judge’s name was even announced.

Democrats, in what apparently was a pre-planned move to sabotage the proceedings, called for immediate adjournment in order to give them more time to slowly and thoughtfully pore over every word ever written by or about the nominee – a rather odd change of pace for the party which heretofore embraced the “pass it to see what’s in it” policy of avoiding any actual reading.

Countdown to Civil War

It’s time to go old school – there are winners and there are losers. Get used to it!

Canada Free Press
by Linda Goudsmit
9/3/2018

Excerpt:

On January 26, 2018 Daniel Greenfield gave a brilliant speech in South Carolina in which he argued that politics make civil wars – not guns. “Guns are how a civil war ends. Politics is how it begins.” What does that mean?

“Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can’t settle the question through elections because they don’t even agree that elections are how you decide who’s in charge. That’s the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country. When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war.”

Democrats: Narrative of political correctness, moral relativism, historical revisionism

This is no small thing. The United States of America has distinguished itself by the peaceful transfer of power through elections for 242 years. Opposing parties compete in an election – one side wins and the other loses. The country reunites after the election in support of the office of the President and competes again four years later.

In 2016 Hillary Clinton competed against Donald Trump for the presidency and lost. For the first time in American history, 22 months after a presidential election the losing party still refuses to accept the election outcome. We are in a countdown to civil war. What changed?

Google and Mastercard in secret deal aimed at bridging online and offline attribution

Excerpts:

Mastercard and Google have reportedly reached a secret deal that will enable Google to track Mastercard user buying habits both online and offline, and use the data for ad targeting and attribution. According to Bloomberg, the deal was brokered last year following four years of negotiation.

……………………………………………

Consumers are able to opt-out of the attribution technology by toggling off ‘Web and App Activity’, a broad category that controls whether Google can pinpoint your exact GPS coordinates. This same category came under the spotlight earlier this month when it was revealed that Google was using it to track user locations even when users had opted out of Location Services.

However, the deal has raised concerns over how much consumer information Google has access to, and the lack of transparency and consumer information provided regarding the partnership.

“People don’t expect what they buy physically in a store to be linked to what they are buying online,” said Christine Bannon, counsel with the advocacy group Electronic Privacy Information Centre (EPIC). “There’s just far too much burden that companies place on consumers and not enough responsibility being taken by companies to inform users what they’re doing and what rights they have.

Fighting Political Desegregation With a Digital First Amendment

Political segregation must end just as racial segregation did.

FrontPage Mag
by Daniel Greenfield
8/29/2018

Excerpt:

The United States has 325 million people. Facebook has 2.2 billion active users. Google is even bigger. Even a smaller company like Twitter tops the population of the United States with 335 million active users. And not even China has a bigger population than that of the biggest internet companies.

The scale of the internet dwarfs any individual nation-state and obtaining many of the traditional benefits of the nation-state, political freedom, engagement, economic opportunities, requires access through the corporate monopolies that act as the gatekeepers of their own virtual nation states.

Google, Facebook and Amazon aren’t governments, but they have a larger virtual citizenry than any government, and they control access to the marketplace of ideas, determining what ideas billions of people can express, whether they can conduct financial transactions or even exist. Technopolies have a vast sphere of control without having to offer their users any of the personal freedoms of governments.

The virtual state of the internet grew to be controlled by a handful of corporations based out of bicoastal cities, almost universally to the political left of ordinary Americans.

8.8% of tech industry founders voted for Trump, compared to 46% of voters or 56% of the country. 63% of tech bosses are Democrats while only 14% are Republicans. A majority of Americans support the death penalty. A majority of tech bosses oppose it. More Americans want to decrease immigration than increase it. But a majority of tech bosses want to increase immigration levels instead.
