KENYAN-BORN-OBAMA Flashback: Editor of Foreign Policy says Obama was born in Kenya

On November 13, 2012, Benjamin Pauker, the senior editor of Foreign Policy magazine, was interviewed on C-SPAN’s “Washington Journal” about Obama being reelected for a second term.

Beginning at around the 1:15 mark, Pauker was extolling Obama and claimed that a recent “comprehensive” survey of 18 countries found that “across the board there’s still enormous popular support for Obama,” whom Pauker calls “really a transformational figure, a hopeful figure.” Except in two places: Pakistan and Kenya.

Pauker attributes Obama’s unpopularity in Pakistan to the raid and killing of Osama bin Laden.

Then things got really interesting.

Beginning at the 1:43 mark, referring to Obama’s unpopularity in Kenya, Pauker said, “…and in Kenya, which is funny, because it’s Obama’s birthplace.”

Pauker then realized what he has just said, so he scrambled, “… because it’s [Kenya] homeland for him. I think in Kenya, which is sort of interesting, there’s a feeling among the public that they wanted him to focus more on his ancestral home.”
