What was/is the true and correct name of Ted Cruz’s mother? Prior to Cruz releasing his Canadian birth certificate back in August, 2013 (The Dallas Morning News) we read that his mother’s name is Eleanor Darragh:

We here at WOBIK also used the “Eleanor Darragh” name in our December 3, 2012 report: Canadian born Rafael Edward Cruz, son of a non-US citizen (Cuban father). US President 2016?
When Cruz released a copy of a 1971-issued (abstract of birth) Certificate of Birth (which many Birthers like to refer to as a “short form”) we learned that his mother’s name was listed as Eleanor Elizabeth Wilson.
Is it Eleanor Darragh or Eleanor Elizabeth Wilson? Are they both correct?
Does the name Darragh fit in somewhere as a second-middle name or a second last name? If so, do we have solid evidence of this?
Or did Eleanor remarry at some point and take her new husband’s name?
I’m sure that all of this is innocent and can easily be explained but I’d like to have the answer documented (with evidence) here at WOBIK for research related purposes.

I just found this image of what is purportedly a page from the 1940 US Census which shows Cruz’s mother as “Eleanor Darragh” when she was age 5.

The only thing that makes any sense (?) to me at this point is that Eleanor’s father’s surname was Darragh (Scottish or Irish name) and that maybe (?) Eleanor’s mother’s maiden surname was Wilson (English name).
However, I’ve read that Cruz’s mother is purportedly of Irish & Italian descent. Wilson (English name) isn’t very Italian. Maybe Eleanor’s grandmother married a man with the surname Wilson?

Can anyone, other than a staunch supporter of cruz, provide an explaination of the reason for the mother of cruz being in Canada. You know, like when did she move to Canada? She is obviously of the age that an intended spouse, or boyfriend would have been eligible for the draft. Many people of that era did move to Canada to avoid Viet Nam, as some of you older perusers may recall. If that is the case then we don’t need the son of a draft dodger as president. We already had a five time draft dodger as vice president and a president that would not present his original DD 214 to verify whether he was a deserter or not. Original DD214’s cannot be doctored.
It has been widely reported that Cruz’s father (who was married to Cruz’s mother) moved to Canada at that time (with Cruz’s mother) for employment opportunities. And Cruz’s father was not a U.S. citizen at the time, so he was not subject to the U.S. draft.
