I don’t recall exactly when I first became aware of the ‘Fast & Furious’ scandal and its attempted COVERUP (like almost everything else of real importance these days) by the Obama administration and much of the controlled MSM. I suspect that the details started flashing red on my ‘radar screen’ in early 2011 when it was learned that Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was murdered on American soil with one of the F&F smuggled weapons.

    http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/02/23/eveningnews/main20035609.shtml

The horrific results of F&F, for the citizens of both Mexico and the USA, continue to escalate with each shocking new revelation. Over 2500 sophisticated, high powered guns ‘walked’ since the government operation was initiated. In addition to the deaths of Brian Terry and ICE agent Jaime Zapata, over 200 Mexican citizens have been killed so far with these weapons. — And the killing continues.

The really shocking part of the scandal is not so much the deaths themselves, it is the fact that these deaths, at least in Mexico, were DELIBERATELY PLANNED by the Obama administration! Tragically, these deaths were NECESSARY for the F&F operation to be ‘successful’. Many Mexicans HAD to die to ‘prove’ that the gun laws in the USA were not restrictive enough so that even more stringent GUN CONTROL laws were needed. That was the sole, shameful purpose of the operation!

Consequently, there never was any attempt to trace the movement of the guns or prevent their use. That would have defeated the entire purpose of the operation. It just doesn’t get much worse than this when dealing with corruption and misdirected effort at the highest levels of government!

The country has been in ‘scandal overload’ mode since Obama was illegally inaugurated as President in January 2009. However, of the many serious scandals that have reared their ugly heads since that time, I have always considered F&F to be the ONE most likely to, if not bring down Obama himself, at least to rid us of his #1 legal protector, AG Eric Holder, so that Obama could be ‘next in line’!

The following gives some background information regarding the excellent book by Ms. Pavlich:

    Excerpt:

“A Breitbart review of Katie Pavlich’s book on Fast and Furious heaps more injustice on the mounds already piling up around the ATF gunwalking program.

    — ‘Few journalists have devoted as much time reporting on Fast and Furious as Pavlich. As the news editor of Townhall, she has asked questions the mainstream media ignored. Now her book pieces the story together for a complete picture of how a government-run operation turned deadly’. —

Kudos to 23-year old Katie for capitalizing on the hard work of three guys who not only have been on this since day one but who actually broke the story in late December of 2010.

No hard feelings and who cares who actually gets the credit if in the end there’s justice for the murdered souls of the Obama administration’s number one scandal. I’m sure Mike Vanderboegh, Dave Workman and David Codrea, being the three exceptional investigative journalists they are would agree.

But there’s something smarmy about Pavlich’s latest Fox interviews. She didn’t even mention the information which she compiled was due to the heavy lifting of others. Not to acknowledge that in each and every interview says a lot about Ms. Pavlich.

Meanwhile, David Codrea of the Examiner gives us the latest update on exclusive documents received by Mike Vanderboegh. Talk about dedicated Patriots. These trench warriors may not be one of the top 5 “hottest” conservative journalists but their dedication to their country in digging for the truth of the gunwalking murders can’t be matched.”

Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, is making slow progress in getting AG Holder charged with ‘contempt’ and hopefully, eventually ejected from office. Republican House Speaker, the pathetic, cowardly, ineffective, typical-establishment-Republican, John Boehner, continues, whenever possible, to resist any actions that might ’embarrass’ the Kenyan Usurper.

How long are the American People and the Mexican People, going to put up with this crap from Obama and his supporters, on both sides of the aisle? I wish I knew! The November 2012 election draws closer with each passing day!

The Background Obama Can’t Cover Up !

Islam, part of the Living River of History, can affect even the 2012 US election!
The “headwaters” of this River was Adam, according to Judaism, Christianity, Islam etc .
In the OT (Deut. 28), “tributaries” wanting to join the River will be blessed while “distributaries” who want to flow away from it will be cursed. Those wishing to totally separate from the fresh Living River will end up as polluted, dying “oxbow lakes.”
In the OT we see Israelites repeatedly flowing away from God, then repenting and returning to Him; we also see heathen “oxbow lakes” creating their own “gods” and being allowed by God to plunder and kill the erring Israelites.
Then, at the right time, the Living River took on new life with the arrival of the Promised One who offers “living water.”
In the 7th century Islam, drawing from both OT and NT, chose to be a distributary away from this River. Many scholars have viewed it as the final Antichrist: note “scourge” (Isa. 28), “Assyrian” (Mic. 5), “Euphrates” (Rev. 9) etc.
God will allow this “scourge” to temporarily persecute and even kill apostate Jews (JINOs) and Christians (CINOs). Jews, especially in “entertainment,” seem more expert in apostasy than Christians since Jews have been at it 2000 years longer than Christians have – but Christians apparently want to catch up to the Jews!
It’s apparent that others will join Islam in its end-time inquisition; its great oil wealth can captivate many leaders and already we are seeing apostate American leaders being bribed into turning against true American patriots.
Those who ignore (or try to dilute or destroy) the God-ordained Living River of History will be swept down it to an ocean made by their own never-ending tears of agony and despair.
The good news is that American JINOs & CINOs can overcome the “scourge” discussed above. The secret is found by checking out “II Chronicles 7:14” & “John 3:16” on the web.
And there’s still time – and freedom – before the 2012 “End of America” election to Google or MSN “Obama a Black-Slavery Avenger?,” “Pretrib Rapture Politics,” “Mikey Weinstein, Jesus-Basher” and “Christ’s return is NOT imminent.”

Mexican attorney prepares civil lawsuit on Fast and Furious

    David Codrea, Gun Rights Examiner
    6/7/2012

    Excerpt:

“A Mexican attorney is preparing a civil lawsuit against the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Fireams and Explosives over the Fast and Furious “gunwalking” criminal operation, the Mexican news magazine Proceso reported Tuesday. Diana Eugenia González Saldaña, “in coordination with [a legal] office in Houston, Texas, intends to take legal action…for the damage caused by the operation, whose failure has already been publicly acknowledged by the government of Barack Obama.”

This would be the first case brought by a Mexican plaintiff and González Saldaña says the Texas firm will assist in collecting “50 cases to present a solid [foundation for] a civil complaint” to add to the four cases currently documented, “including that of Mario Gonzalez Rodriguez, brother of the prosecutor the state of Chihuahua…who was kidnapped and killed with one of the two thousand weapons smuggled into the country as part of operation ‘Fast and Furious’.”

“I’m risking my life, my things, my family, everything, but it’s something that someone has to do,” González Saldaña told Proceso, saying she is proceeding because “everyone is afraid” and “because nobody has had the pants to do so. I cannot believe no one has come up with this idea.”

Focused on “collect[ing] records from each of the documented cases of deaths in Mexico for weapons introduced by the operation,” González Saldaña is planning “to meet with the Mexican Attorney…to request access to documents to bolster the claim.”

Fast and Furious: House Oversight has a ‘mole’ in the Justice Department

    Human Events
    John Hayward
    06/07/2012

    Excerpt:

“Big news about the Obama Administration’s “Fast and Furious” scandal broke earlier this week, when the House Oversight committee finally got its hands on some of the documents it subpoenaed long ago – specifically, a set of wiretap applications that prove high officials at the Justice Department were very well aware of the deadly “gun walking” tactics that put American weapons into the hands of Mexican drug cartel killers. Attorney General Eric Holder has always maintained that knowledge of these tactics did not reach the upper echelons of his department.

The revelation of documents shredding Holder’s claims stirred some in the Republican leadership to begin taking the idea of filing contempt of Congress charges against the Attorney General more seriously. Justice sent a letter to the House Republican leadership on Tuesday, offering to work out a deal for releasing some of the “Fast and Furious” information covered by those long-defied subpoenas. As House Oversight chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) said in an angry letter challenging Holder’s honesty, it’s increasingly clear why he doesn’t want congressional investigators to see the documents he is refusing to hand over.

It turns out that Issa didn’t get those bombshell wiretap applications because Holder suddenly decided to comply with the subpoenas, and dribble out some useful material. It seems the House Oversight committee has a “mole” in the Justice Department, who surreptitiously gave the wiretap documentation to House investigators.

In a Fox News interview on Wednesday, Issa said he would not reveal the identity of his source for the documents, pointing out that other “Fast and Furious” whistleblowers have experienced retaliation from their superiors, particularly at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives”:

House committee schedules contempt vote against Holder

CBS News has learned the House Oversight Committee will vote next week on whether to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt of Congress. It’s the fourth time in 30 years that Congress has launched a contempt action against an executive branch member.

This time, the dispute stems from Holder failing to turn over documents subpoenaed on October 12, 2011 in the Fast and Furious “gunwalking” investigation.

The Justice Department has maintained it has cooperated fully with the congressional investigation, turning over tens of thousands of documents and having Holder testify to Congress on the topic at least eight times.

However, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., says the Justice Department has refused to turn over tens of thousands of pages of documents. Those include materials created after Feb. 4, 2011, when the Justice Department wrote a letter to Congress saying no gunwalking had occurred. The Justice Department later retracted the denial.

“The Obama Administration has not asserted Executive Privilege or any other valid privilege over these materials and it is unacceptable that the Department of Justice refuses to produce them. These documents pertain to Operation Fast and Furious, the claims of whistleblowers, and why it took the Department nearly a year to retract false denials of reckless tactics,” Issa wrote in an announcement of the vote to be released shortly. It will reveal the vote is scheduled for Wednesday, June 20.

Issa says the Justice Department can still put a stop to the contempt process at any time by turning over the subpoenaed documents.

If the House Oversight Committee approves the contempt citation, the matter would likely be scheduled for a full House vote.

For several weeks, there has been closed-door discussions and debate among House Republicans as to whether to move forward with contempt. Some have expressed concern that it could distract from the Republican’s focus on the economy in this election year.

Led by Republicans Senator Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, and Issa, Congress’ investigation into Fast and Furious is now in its second year. In the ATF operation, agents allowed thousands of weapons to “walk” into the hands of Mexican drug cartels in the hope it would somehow help ATF take down a major cartel. Some of the weapons were used in the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry at the hands of illegal immigrants crossing into Arizona. Mexican press reports say hundreds of Mexicans have died at the hands of the trafficked weapons. The story was exposed nationally for the first time by CBS News in February 2011.

    Fast and Furious Falling Apart

    American Thinker
    Russ Vaughn
    6/21/2012

    Excerpt:

“When BATF agents first blew the whistle on what is now known as Operation Fast and Furious, the rationale offered by DoJ for such an evidently foolish operation was that it was designed to allow BATF to track and prosecute the leaders of the Mexican drug cartels. As more information surfaced from the Mexican government and the BATF’s Mexican bureau chief specifying that none of them knew anything of this operation, many of us who were paying a bit closer attention to the case immediately smelled the first foul scent of corruption.

The fatal flaw in DoJ’s explanation was this: if the Mexican authorities had not been brought into the operation, nor even the BATF’s own agents authorized to operate in Mexico, then the proffered DoJ justification made utterly no sense, for the simple reason that once those walked guns hit the south side of that border, there was absolutely no process in place to track them to their supposed targets. Therefore, DoJ was patently misrepresenting its motive. Why?

For those who keep a constant wary eye on the left’s never-ending war on our 2nd-Amendment right to keep and bear arms, the increasingly fishy smell emanating from Washington led to connecting the dots back to the year-earlier revelations in the liberal media that weapons being used in Mexican crimes were traceable back to American sources more than 90% of the time. That false meme had spread quickly through the major liberal media, along with calls for stricter gun control laws in this country by…guess who! How about our president, our secretary of state, our attorney general, and other notable Democrats, for starters?

Here we had an operation mounted by the executive branch of the United States, an operation which had as its stated goal — after being outed, that is — the targeting of Mexican drug lords on sovereign Mexican soil. Yet this was done without the knowledge of anyone in the Mexican government. Quite clearly, a secret and subversive operation had been conceived and implemented against our sister nation to the south — subversive because, again, quite clearly, the American government was subverting the sovereign authority of Mexico without that nation’s knowledge. If the goal was, as stated later by DoJ, to track guns into Mexico to the purchasing sources in the cartels, then was there not some diplomatic requirement to notify the Mexican government that we were arming their most violent criminal elements? And what was the need for keeping our own BATF agents in Mexico — the only American agents with Mexican presence to conduct such surveillance and tracking operations on Mexican soil — equally in the dark?

It doesn’t require much in the way of deductive powers to conclude that the fish-wrap smell seeping out of Washington probably had to do with Eric Holder’s Department of Justice being used to tightly wrap something rotting from the head down. And what could that be? Early proponents of the theory suggesting that if the DoJ’s rationale smelled fishy, then perhaps the true reason for F&F was to create justification for more gun control legislation here in this country were looked at as crackpot conspiracists. Even now, most of those Republican members of Congress pursuing this scandal refuse to cite the true purpose of F&F, still referring to it as a bungled federal program. There are exceptions: Florida congressman John Mica speaking on one of the Sunday talk shows this weekend, made clear his opinion that F&F was a sinister and cynical attempt by the Obama administration to undermine the 2nd Amendment. I watched him say it, but Google has no link. Imagine that.”

You raise a good point and I hope some other readers of this blog will also comment on it.

I am woefully deficient on legal knowledge and I couldn’t find anything definitive regarding the topic using a brief internet search. Therefore, let me just express the following uninformed opinion on the matter.

I think Holder should FIRST be forced to resign his powerful position as AG so he can no longer be effective in enabling the ongoing COVER UP of this horrific scandal. His resignation will also prevent him from providing legal help to Obama on a number of other issues, which will be definite ‘plus’!

I don’t think any attempt should be made to indict Holder until Obama no longer occupies the most powerful office in the world. I suspect Obama, while in office, would be able to exert enough influence behind the scenes to either insure that Holder is not actually indicted, or if he is indicted, he will not be convicted in a court of law. (Law? We don’t need no stinkin’ law)

Once Obama is out of office, THEN the many long-overdue indictments against a large number of responsible individuals, including Holder, needs to be vigorously pursued! The many crimes involved will include issues surrounding the Fast & Furious Scandal and, of course, Obama and his usurpation of the office of POTUS.

Sealed records of Brian Terry murder may contain highly embarrassing facts

    Examiner
    Anthony Martin, Conservative Examiner
    6/25/2012

    Excerpt:

“When U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was murdered in December of 2010 while investigating illegal gun and drug smuggling that turned out to be part of the Obama Administration scandal known as Fast and Furious, all records concerning the murder were sealed by the courts.

But in a bombshell revelation made by author and reporter Katie Pavlich on C-SPAN2’s Book TV series Sunday evening, Pavlich told National Journal reporter Major Garrett that all of the evidence suggests that the reason the records are sealed is to prevent the public from finding out highly embarrassing information about the Obama Administration.

That information is that Agent Terry was more than likely murdered by paid FBI informants working with Mexican drug cartels and that the gun they used to kill him was a Fast and Furious weapon the Obama Administration had deliberately placed in their hands. (bold emphasis added)

Pavlich’s new book titled, “Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal and Its Shameless Cover-Up,” contains information gleaned from extensive research during which dozens of interviews were conducted with ATF whistleblowers and other sources inside the government who possess insider knowledge of the Fast and Furious scandal.

Very little information has been provided to the press or to the public concerning evidence retrieved at the crime scene, except for the fact that at least two guns were recovered. But government whistleblowers working for the ATF, ICE, and the FBI have reported that a third gun was recovered at the scene but was never sent to the forensics lab for analysis.

    That gun somehow mysteriously disappeared.

The agents who saw the gun and who are familiar with the Fast and Furious operation are adamant that it was part of the illegal scheme to send U.S. guns to Mexican drug cartels.

A secretly taped conversation between an ATF agent and a gun dealer, which was submitted into evidence and broadcast on CBS News, shows that there was a third gun despite vehement denials early on by administration officials.

Thus, overwhelming factual evidence already has been established that the third gun was present at the scene and removed, thus preventing it from being analyzed by forensics, and that the Mexican criminals that ATF agents had in their sights for gun and drug trafficking turned out to be paid FBI informants.

The information provided by Pavlich in her book confirms the claims made previously by ATF informants, which were relayed by this reporter and others over the past 18 months. Further, Pavlich is convinced that the reason the evidence from Brain Terry’s murder is tightly sealed from public view is that the Obama Administration does not want the public to know that its Fast and Furious operation led directly to Agent Terry’s death.”

Another Point of View on Pressuring AG Eric Holder to Resign Now

    Holder Has Long Been Contemptible

Last week, during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Texas Senator John Cornyn called on Holder to resign to his face.

I humbly disagree. I say Holder should remain as Attorney General. The longer Holder remains in office and the angrier Americans become about Fast and Furious, the bigger an albatross Holder remains around the neck of President Obama. All of which reflects poorly on President Obama’s judgment or lack thereof in appointing Holder as his Attorney General in the first place. If the American public should now hold Eric Holder in contempt, the American public may do the same with President Obama in November.

House holds Holder in contempt over ‘Fast and Furious’ documents

    The Washington Times
    Stephen Dinan
    6/28/2012

    Excerpt:

“The House on Thursday cited Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. for contempt of Congress in a historic vote weighted with political significance, though it does little to break the stalemate over his decision to withhold documents over the Justice Department’s actions in a botched gun-walking operation.

The 255-67 vote amounted to a political spanking for Mr. Holder and President Obama, and 17 Democrats joined with Republicans in demanding the documents be released. Most Democrats, however, walked out in protest of the vote. – (bold emphasis added)

It marks the first time an attorney general has been held in contempt by a chamber.

But the White House dismissed the proceedings as a sideshow, and the vote does nothing to break the impasse, though it further poisoned feelings in an already bitterly divided chamber.

“No Justice Department is above the law, and no Justice Department is above the Constitution,” said House Speaker John A. Boehner, Ohio Republican.

Democrats pleaded with the Republicans to slow down the proceedings, saying the oversight committee, led by Chairman Darrell Issa, California Republican, has done a shoddy job in putting together its investigation.

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, Texas Democrat, even introduced a resolution demanding that the House reprimand Mr. Issa for partisanship and accusing him of having “engaged in a witch hunt.”

Many Democrats walked out of the contempt vote in protest, and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, said the vote was a black eye for the Republicans.

“Just when you think you have seen it all. Just when you think they couldn’t possibly go any further over the edge, they come up with something like this,” she said. “What is happening here is shameful.”

Democrats also tried to force the matter back into Mr. Issa’s committee, but the House defeated that motion.

As issue is the oversight committee’s investigation into Fast and Furious, an operation intended to track sales of U.S. guns and watch the guns be shipped across the border to a Mexican drug cartel, but the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) lost track of the roughly 2,000 weapons after they were sold.

Some of the guns eventually began showing up at crime scenes, including two that were recovered at the site of a 2010 Arizona shootout that left Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry dead.

Mr. Holder shut down the operation, but his efforts to clean up after it have come under scrutiny. The Justice Department initially told Congress it never knowingly lost track of guns, but after whistleblowers made it clear that this was false, Mr. Holder had to withdraw that claim.

The Justice Department has turned over documents about the actual gun-walking operation, but have refused to turn over documents about how it handled the false information it provided to Congress. Last week President Obama asserted executive privilege, arguing those documents are protected by precedent that governs internal deliberations.

Analysis: Republicans vow to take Holder to court

    Reuters
    David Ingram and Drew Singer
    6/28/2012

    Excerpt:

    WASHINGTON

“(Reuters) – Perhaps as significant as the contempt citation Congress issued to Attorney General Eric Holder is the likelihood Republicans will also go to court to enforce a congressional demand for documents – a tactic pursued only twice before in U.S. history.

The Republican-led House of Representatives voted on Thursday to find Holder, the country’s top law enforcement officer, in contempt of Congress for withholding documents in a botched gun-running sting operation on the U.S.-Mexico border.

In a second vote, the House gave itself the authority to go to court to get the documents.

That will put a spotlight not only on Holder but also on his boss, President Barack Obama, who has insisted he can withhold the documents under executive privilege.

“The contempt citation will go away,” said Todd Peterson, a law professor at George Washington University.

“Congress will probably file a lawsuit, in part hoping to find some judicial support but more because it’s just another way to publicize the president’s refusal to comply with their demands for documents,” Peterson said.

Failure to obey a potential court order on the documents would expose Holder to a more serious contempt of court charge, though few expect it to come to that.

Critics complain that high-level legal jousting has become a sport in Washington, where partisan warriors look for any way to attack their foes.

Speaking to reporters in New Orleans, Holder said “an unnecessary court conflict” would ensue because of the House votes. He said it would not distract him or his staff “from the important tasks that are our responsibility.”

On both previous occasions when Congress went to court, the targets were Republican and the cases had some success.

In 1974 a federal appeals court granted a Senate panel’s demand for one of President Richard Nixon’s tape recordings, although the case was later dismissed on other grounds.

    A PRECEDENT

In 2008 Democrats, investigating whether the firings of nine U.S. attorneys were politically motivated, won an order that forced Bush administration aides, including former White House counsel Harriet Miers, to hand over documents and testify.

The aides had refused. The House voted to hold them in contempt and went to federal court in Washington where Judge John Bates dismissed the aides’ claim that they were “absolutely immune” from having to testify.

It was the first time in U.S. history that a court successfully ordered the White House to turn over information to Congress.

Bates declined to referee the fine points of what documents the White House needed to turn over. Instead he encouraged a negotiated settlement, and the sides reached a compromise one year after Democrats sued.

Now, Republicans are tearing a page from the same playbook to use against Holder, whose cabinet role puts him in charge of the Justice Department in Obama’s Democratic administration.

The court action could entangle the Justice Department in an uncomfortable case and force the Obama administration to give new details of the unreleased documents.

The case pitting House Republicans against Holder would largely mirror the 2008 case, said Washington lawyer Stanley Brand, a former general counsel to the House.

“They’ll take the lawsuit that was filed in the previous case, they’ll change it to reflect the parties and the facts in this case, and they’ll file it,” Brand said. “They’re following what I’d call the Miers precedent.”

“At this moment, Attorney General Eric “Know When to Holder’em” Holder is meeting his political Waterloo after stonewalling Congress regarding the odious Fast and Furious scandal. Above all, let’s remember Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and his family in the wake of his death.

In brief, Fast and Furious refers to a goofy weapons sale scheme hatched by The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, or ATF, in which guns were sold to so-called “straw purchasers,” who in turn were transferring the weapons to Mexican drug cartels. The idea was – I’m not making this up – to pounce on the whole enchilada, as it were, and arrest the cartel members along with the gun runners.

That works swell in theory, or in a Nicolas Cage movie, but when officials prevented agents from intercepting this network, 2,000 weapons slipped through the “dragnet.” Although 700 of them were eventually recovered, one was used to kill Agent Terry on the night of December 14, 2010.

We are now at the point of prying open the scandal, and Katie Pavlich’s new book, “Fast and Furious,” is a key piece of the puzzle.

Frankly, I believe the books produced in the last few years exposing Barack Obama are important, but Pavlich might have the most crucial book of them all, outlining not only Obama’s personal assault on the Second Amendment, but also the breathtaking depth of the scandal.

Pavlich, news editor for Townhall, has more guts than most, and her investigative skills make “Fast and Furious” the book a stunner.

Obama, mentored by liberal legal scholar Laurence Tribe, added to his agenda a plan to control the flow of guns in the United States. One can see, then, how Fast and Furious unfolded: sell weapons to the bad guys, keep the good guys from confiscating them. Holder, the nation’s top cop, has been in a tug-of-war with Congress, particularly Congressman Darrell Issa.

In the meantime, Pavlich began to pore over memoranda, emails, talk to sources and eventually uncovered the scandal that became this book. You will be stunned when you read this account; what you will read is not a movie.

This is just a taste of what Pavlich uncovers: “The trafficking of drugs and illegal immigrants across the border is on a massive scale. In 2010, in the Tucson sector alone, nearly 400 tons of marijuana were seized, and 180,000 illegal immigrants were apprehended.”

My friends, America is being fundamentally changed by change agents, and I firmly believe that if Barack Obama winds up being a one-term president, handing over power to Mitt Romney next January, books like “Fast and Furious” will have played a large part. For Pavlich has investigated a shadowy, little-known story and made it pulsate with chilling candor.

Here is another incredible tidbit Pavlich uncovered: When Mexican officials demanded that the U.S. come clean and answer questions about just who had allowed guns to fall into the hands of narco-terrorists, Deputy Secretary of State William Burns paid a little visit to Mexico’s Foreign Secretary, Patricia Espinoza. Message? Shut your yapper, or we will withhold a $500 million payment involving the Merida Initiative, a program that funds training to combat drug trafficking.

Pavlich’s inside source revealed this sickening exchange.

In Chapter 10 of “Fast and Furious” (“Connecting the Dots”), Pavlich remembers a most interesting conversation at a fundraiser for Brian Terry’s family. I won’t reveal more of what was said, but you will particularly enjoy learning just how the Obama Administration replaces outgoing officials with more of the same – those who will be yes-men and keep the dirt under the rug.”

Fast and Furious Is Not a D.C. Law Firm

    Townhall
    Ann Coulter
    7/11/2012

    Excerpt:

“Most Americans don’t care about whether Attorney General Eric Holder is hiding Fast and Furious documents because they don’t understand the story.

Until someone can tell us otherwise, there is only one explanation for why President Obama’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives gave thousands of guns to Mexican drug dealers: It put guns in their hands to strengthen liberals’ argument for gun control.

Precisely because this is such a jaw-dropping accusation — criminality at the highest level of government to score a political point — Republicans refuse to make it.

But the problem with Republican rectitude in discussing this scandal is that as soon as they start talking about subpoenas and dates and documents, TV channels change across America. They’re never going to get answers unless they first explain to the American people why it matters.

Liberals have been dying to reinstate the so-called “assault weapons” ban, but they haven’t been able to for political reasons. (For more information on this, see the 1994 congressional elections.)

A typically idiotic Democratic scheme, the “assault weapons” ban prohibited the sale of semiautomatics that are operationally indistinguishable from deer rifles, but which looked scary to liberal women.

First, the Democrats tried lying about how American guns were being found in the hands of Mexican drug dealers — while demanding a renewal of the assault weapons ban.

Obama had barely unpacked at the White House, when he and high-level administration officials and Senate Democrats — Holder, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, Sen. Chuck Schumer — started railing about how our lax gun control laws were putting guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels.

In 2010, even Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon demanded that the U.S. reinstate the assault weapons ban — on the grounds that Mexican drug violence was directly linked to the law’s repeal.

The claim was preposterous for many reasons, including the fact that the type and quantity of armaments being used by Mexican drug cartels can be obtained only from places such as North Korea, China, Russia, Venezuela and Guatemala.

The notion that most guns used by Mexican drug gangs came from the U.S. was a lie — exposed on about 1 million gun blogs and on Fox News.

So, then the Obama administration did exactly what Democrats had been falsely accusing American gun sellers of doing: They put American guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartels.”

Video: Preview of Univision’s “bombshell” report on Fast & Furious

    Hot Air
    Ed Morrissey
    9/29/2012

    Excerpt:

“The Obama administration clearly hoped that the Department of Justice’s Inspector General report on Operation Fast and Furious would be the last word on the scandal. which has been tied to hundreds of deaths in Mexico and the murders of two American law-enforcement officials. However, a new report from Univision to be broadcast tomorrow, previewed here by ABC News, may put the issue back on the front pages. One source called Univision’s findings the “holy grail” that Congressional investigators have been seeking:

Often lost amid the rancor in Washington are the stories of dozens of people killed by guns that flowed south as part of the undercover operation, and later slipped out of view from U.S. officials. Univision’s Investigative Unit (Univision Investiga) has identified massacres committed using guns from the ATF operation, including the killing of 16 young people attending a party in a residential area of Ciudad Juárez in January of 2010.

The guns didn’t stop in Mexico, either:

Additional guns, previously unreported by congressional investigators, found their way into the hands of drug traffickers across Latin America in countries such as, Honduras and Colombia, as well as the U.S. Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. A person familiar with the recent congressional hearings called Univision’s findings “the holy grail” that Congress had been searching for.

The Daily Caller also reports on Univision’s findings and the impact they may have on the scandal:

“The consequences of the controversial ‘Fast and Furious’ undercover operation put in place by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in 2009 have been deadlier than what has been made public to date,” the network said. “The exclusive, in-depth investigation by Univision News’ award-winning Investigative Unit — Univision Investiga — has found that the guns that crossed the border as part of Operation Fast and Furious caused dozens of deaths inside Mexico.”

Among other groups of Fast and Furious victim stories Univision says it will tell in the special to air Sunday evening at 7 p.m., is one about how “16 young people attending a party in a residential area of Ciudad Juárez in January of 2010″ were gunned down with weapons the Obama administration gave to drug cartel criminals through Fast and Furious.

“Univision News’ Investigative Unit was also able to identify additional guns that escaped the control of ATF agents and were used in different types of crimes throughout Mexico,” the network added. “Furthermore, some of these guns — none of which were reported by congressional investigators — were put in the hands of drug traffickers in Honduras, Puerto Rico, and Colombia. A person familiar with the recent congressional hearings called Univision’s findings ‘the holy grail’ that Congress had been searching for.”

The following is COMMENT #36, by ‘butterdezillion’ in the thread:

“When the US government, without informing or getting the approval of the Mexican government, arms the drug cartels that are specifically destroying whole towns in Mexico, and considers Mexicans as “collateral damage”, I’d consider that an act of war.

The Hispanics who fled to America either to get away from the violence in their own country or to get a chance at prosperity here should be incensed that he is first arming the drug cartels and then making sure that the US doors are left wide open for these murderers/terrorists to follow their prey into America also, and disgusted that Obama is turning the US economy into the same thing they tried to escape from.

Everything they hoped to find in America is being destroyed by this guy who considers their people to be props whose deaths serve a greater “good”.

Any self-respecting Hispanic should be voting against Obama.”

TYPICAL OBOT ‘EQUUS FAECES & MODUS OPERANDI’

    (1) I post reference to an article on this thread concerning the very serious and tragic ‘Fast & Furious’ scandal, which intimately involves Obama and his #1 legal protector, AG Eric Holder. This scandal has already resulted in the DEATHS two American border control officials and hundreds of Mexican citizens. The carnage in Mexico resulting from this OBAMA SCANDAL continues and was actually planned as a ‘clever political scheme’ in an attempt to force more stringent gun control here in the USA.

    (2) After remaining silent on this blog for about four days, ‘ehancock’ suddenly chooses to briefly slither out into the sunshine and post, on another and unrelated thread, yet another tired rendition of her oft-repeated and discredited crap about Lucas and the authentic Obama Kenyan Birth Certificate.

Why? — Simply to clutter up this venue and direct the casual viewer’s attention away from the serious matter now being discussed here. That is, people are dying in Mexico, nobody in the top levels of the Obama administration has yet been held accountable for this ongoing scandal — and ‘ehancock’ continues to play her pathetic and transparent little games!

    — at least, that’s the way I see it!

Ryan says Holder must go due to Fast and Furious

    Examiner
    Anthony Martin, Conservative Examiner
    9/30/2012

    Excerpt:

“Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan stated Sunday that Attorney General Eric Holder must go due to the Fast and Furious scandal in which the Obama administration sent thousands of U.S. guns to Mexican criminals that whistleblowers say was to attempt make a case for more gun control in the United States.

Ryan made the comments to The Daily Caller Sunday through his spokesman Brandon Buck.

Buck told the Caller that Ryan agrees with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who stated in December of 2011,

“Either Mr. Holder himself should resign, or the president should ask for his resignation or remove him. It’s unacceptable for him to continue in that position now given the fact that he has misled Congress and entirely botched the investigation of the Fast and Furious program.”

The final report of the Office of the Inspector General on Fast and Furious stated that the report was incomplete due to the lack of cooperation from the White House in providing documents and access to key witnesses.

Many conservatives and gun rights activists have repeatedly stated, however, that Holder’s resignation or forced termination does not go nearly far enough given the gravity of the crimes committed by the Attorney General and his top aides at the Department of Justice and supervisory agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF).

Activists point to federal laws that were broken in soliciting the help of federally licensed firearms dealers along the southern border to help in a supposed “sting operation” that was never actually a sting. Whistleblower agents of the ATF state that Fast and Furious was never intended to be a sting at all, that agents did not “trace the weapons” once they reached Mexican drug cartels, and no arrests were made resulting from the program.

Two federal agents later were murdered with guns found at the scene that were part of the Fast and Furious scam. And hundreds of Mexican citizens who live close to the border with the United States have also lost their lives to criminals who used these guns.

These factors have led many within the gun rights community and the conservative movement as a whole to call for the impeachment of Holder due to “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

In addition, the section of the Justice Department that handles cases involving wiretaps is a special program that requires the involvement of top officials, including the attorney general and the president of the United States. That program is called the Department of Justice Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) and is required to sign off on cases that utilize wiretaps.

A record of the wiretap applications was submitted by U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., in a special hearing of the House during which Eric Holder was cited for contempt of Congress. The wiretaps prove the involvement of OCDETF, thus proving the involvement of high level administration officials, including the president who is described as having “general oversight” of the program.”

Univision report connects Operation Fast and Furious scandal to murders of Mexican teenagers

    The Daily Caller
    Matthew Boyle
    10/1/2012

    Excerpt:

“The Spanish language television news network Univision unleashed a bombshell investigative report on Operation Fast and Furious Sunday evening, finding that in January 2010 drug cartel hit men slaughtered students with weapons the United States government allowed to flow to them across the Mexican border.

“On January 30, 2010, a commando of at least 20 hit men parked themselves outside a birthday party of high school and college students in Villas de Salvarcar, Ciudad Juarez,” according to a version of the Univision report in English, on the ABC News website.

“Near midnight, the assassins, later identified as hired guns for the Mexican cartel La Linea, broke into a one-story house and opened fire on a gathering of nearly 60 teenagers. Outside, lookouts gunned down a screaming neighbor and several students who had managed to escape. Fourteen young men and women were killed, and 12 more were wounded before the hit men finally fled.”

Citing a Mexican Army document it obtained and published, Univision reported that “[t]hree of the high caliber weapons fired that night in Villas de Salvarcar were linked to a gun tracing operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).”

That operation was Fast and Furious.

The “massacre,” as Univision described it, was not the only bombshell the network unveiled in its Sunday evening report.

“Univision News identified a total of 57 more previously unreported firearms that were bought by straw purchasers monitored by ATF during Operation Fast and Furious, and then recovered in Mexico in sites related to murders, kidnappings, and at least one other massacre,” the Univision report reads.

The network also uncovered another Fast and Furious weapons “massacre.” On September 2, 2009, 18 young men were killed at “El Aliviane, a rehabilitation center in Ciudad Juarez,” according to the report.”

Grassley ties gun from cartel shootout to central Gunwalker figure

    Examiner
    David Codrea, Gun Rights Examiner
    12/19/2012

    Excerpt:

A gun that “may have been purchased by” the Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearm’s Phoenix Field Division has turned up at the scene of a cartel shootout in Mexico, Ranking Senate Judiciary Committee Member Charles E. Grassley told Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz in a letter today.

“The weapon apparently purchased by Gillett was recovered in the same area and on the same weekend as an AK-47 purchased by Uriel Patino was recovered.,” Grassley wrote, also maintaining Gillett had given “false information.

“The Firearms Transaction Record which suggests Gillett was the purchaser of the weapon is one of three such records in Gillett’s name which list a non-residential address,” Grassley explained. “The Firearms Transaction Records list the addresses of the ATF office as well as a local shopping center.

“Using false home residences on Firearms Transaction Records is a felony,” he reminded Horowitz. “Jaime Avila, the straw purchaser of a gun found at the murder scene of Customs and Border Patrol Agent, was recently sentenced to 57 months in prison for using false addresses on the same form.”
