I haven’t had time yet to read through all of this. Appears to have been prepared for the American Civil Liberties Union in 2008. Based on the Table of Contents this could be very interesting and useful.

  • The Lesson: Law Enforcement is the Wrong Tool for the Job
  • Pandemic Planning: The Futility of a One Size Fits All Approach
  • Current Pandemic Flu Plans: Dangerously Counterproductive

The 41 page booklet can be read online and downloaded at https://www.aclu.org/report/pandemic-preparedness-need-public-health-not-law-enforcementnational-security-approach

Will read through this tomorrow and report again as soon as possible.

  1. Quickly read through the ACLU report just now (will read through more carefully again tonight).

Appears to be the complete and categorical opposite to how things are being handled in regard to Covid-19.

Even the politics, or the political sides on this, appear to be the opposite (I think, although will need to read more carefully again tonight).

  2. Bruce Steadman says:

    Critically important topic!

I haven’t been a big fan of the ACLU in recent decades, although I was an avid supporter back in the sixties.

I’ll try to read some more about their presentation on this.
