Many observers feel that the controversial ascension of Obama to the White House is no longer newsworthy. The sun has apparently set on Obama’s destructive stewardship of the country. He must be allowed to fade into political irrelevance while the country tackles without distraction the enormous problems that confront it. “There’s a lot of work to do,” writes one commenter to a recently posted article of mine, “Let’s start by consigning Obama to the dustbin of history, and repeat his name no more.”

This is a relatively common sentiment, but it is, I believe, a blinkered view of the Obama phenomenon. The sun is still at its zenith as the reality and repercussions of Obama’s tenure remain in force. Obama isn’t going away. He is intent on maximizing the damage he inflicted on the country during the two terms of his faux presidency, having now set up shop in Washington to pursue a post-presidency agenda advancing a left-wing insurgency, civil unrest, racial conflict and the destabilizing activities of a shadow government. His Alinskyite community organizing, 501(c) (4) nonprofit operations, advocacy with DNC backing for the “fundamental transformation” of America, a $60 million book contract, and the lure of obscenely lucrative speeches, clearly meant to further his former executive policies (as well as line his pockets), all continue to promote, as Mathew Vadum writes, “the social polarization and ethno-cultural balkanization he encouraged while president.” Not even post-presidential interventionists like the heroic Teddy Roosevelt or the irritating nuisance Jimmy Carter saw fit to establish tactical headquarters in the city on the hill. Unlike any of his 43 predecessors, Obama is without shame or compunction in his violation of post-presidential tradition, conduct befitting the program of an anti-president.

As far back as the late 90s, the Kenyan people started to celebrate Obama’s political career (naming buildings after him, sticking his picture up everywhere) after he became a member of the Illinois Senate. He was then elected to the position of State Senator and, eventually, President. Reclaiming Obama as one of their own, the people of Kenya went batshit over the election results, nowhere more so than in Nairobi’s Kibera slum – home to 60 percent of Nairobi’s population – where residents proclaim Obama to be the area’s president, name their children after him, cover their buildings and vehicles in pictures of his face and cover their bodies in any amount of the presidential merchandise available.

As President Trump focuses on jobs, Barack Obama’s oddness as a President is thrown into relief.  How little we heard about jobs during Obama’s two terms — not even jobs in the inner city.  We did hear a great deal about racism and sexism and homophobia on college campuses.  On college campuses?

The media created the impression that Obama didn’t do much as president besides fundraise and play golf.  He was actually both busy and effective in radicalizing his chosen identity groups.

It is not necessary for the hard-left to win over a majority of their targeted demographics.  They only need to create a vocal, domineering minority that gets their hands on the levers of power and money.  Nowhere do we see the success of this strategy more than on college campuses.

Jobs for radicals was Obama’s major jobs initiative:  get progressives hired on campus, where they recruit thousands of young people, encouraging vulnerable kids to major in grievance studies, then use threats and funds from the federal government, and campus agitation to require more hiring of grievance professors and staff, more power for the hard left.

Obama’s Civil Rights Division at the Justice Department and the Department of Education’s own Office for Civil Rights accused our colleges of being hotbeds of racism and rape.   In response, colleges staffed up their rape protection, diversity and bias offices – 150 full time professionals at U.C. Berkeley alone.  These professional community organizers set to work creating a culture of antagonism and grievance on campus. They turned colleges into centers of progressive indoctrination and bullying.

Former President Obama suggested he will focus his post-presidency on redistributing wealth, emptying prisons, and sabotaging the economy with carbon-emission controls, during his televised return to the national stage yesterday. 

Obama reiterated the politically tone-deaf radical policy priorities of his presidency in a speech at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago. (A transcript of Obama’s relatively brief oration is available here.) 

In a statement preceding a roundtable discussion with students, Obama said:

“The one thing that I’m absolutely convinced of is that yes, we confront a whole range of challenges from economic inequality and lack of opportunity to a criminal justice system that too often is skewed in ways that are unproductive to climate change to, you know, issues related to violence. All those problems are serious. They’re daunting. But they’re not insolvable.”

“What is preventing us from tackling them and making more progress really has to do with our politics and our civic life,” Obama said. “It has to do with the fact that because of things like political gerrymandering our parties have moved further and further apart and it’s harder and harder to find common ground. Because of money and politics.”

Of course, in blaming “political gerrymandering” – an irrelevancy – he got to leave out the social polarization and ethno-cultural balkanization he encouraged while president, along with his crusade to inject more and more money into politics while pretending to do the opposite.

So what Obama failed to mention was just as interesting as what he did get around to saying. 

He did not say the name of his successor. He did not say anything about his multifaceted taxpayer-funded efforts to kneecap Donald Trump’s administration before it took office.

Obama did not say that he wiretapped candidate Donald Trump while his CIA Director, John O. Brennan, conspired with foreign intelligence agencies to spy on Trump. Obama did not say that he worked with Hillary Clinton to promote the utterly wacky conspiracy theory that Trump colluded with Russia to change the results of the November election. 

Obama did not say that he is waging war against the Trump administration through his generously funded agitation outfit, Organizing for Action, to defend his grotesque record of failure and promoting civil unrest.

He manifests for us as a figure of multiple identities: a Christian, a Muslim, a secularist, a socialist, a humanist, an intellectual, a man of the people. His lack of definable substance, his inner absence, has been an important political advantage. As Obama himself confessed (or boasted) in The Audacity of Hope, this layering of anonymities enabled him to “serve as a blank screen on which people of vastly different political stripes project their own views.”

John Brennan did not act autonomously. He was Obama’s Luca Brasi, named CIA director for his exemplary work in cleaning up after Obama. If you recall, during the presidential election, I ran a number of stories on the breach of Obama’s passport at the Department of State. Brennan was the CEO of TAC – and also a consultant to the 2008 Obama campaign – when one of its contract employees was accused of improperly accessing the passport files of Obama prompting an investigation by the State Department. The investigation was focusing on one employee — a contract worker with a company headed by Brennan (more here). You will also recall that the key witness in the presidential passport tampering case was murdered — shot in the head, in his car, in front of his church. The case remains unsolved.

Using the hashtag #PutObamaUnderOath, best-selling author and political pundit Ann Coulter tweeted that while knowing the truth about Barack Obama’s National Security Advisor Susan Rice allegedly ordering surveillance of President Donald Trump’s presidential campaign aides, Obama should also testify before Congress on the matter.

Ann Coulter: The Latest Victim in the Berkeley Free Speech Fight

UC Berkeley is becoming less known for the their academics and more infamous for their riots. 

The liberal college had to “cancel” yet another guest speaker because of safety concerns. The Berkeley College Republicans, BridgeCal and Young America’s Foundation were planning on having Ann Coulter address their groups, until they received an email from the university’s vice chancellors.

“We have been unable to find a safe and suitable venue for your planned April 27 event featuring Ann Coulter,” vice chancellors Scott Biddy and Stephen Sutton emailed the student groups. “In the wake of events surrounding the planned appearance by (right-wing speaker) Milo Yiannopoulos in February, as well as several riots which have occurred in recent weeks in the city of Berkeley, we have increased our scrutiny regarding the time and location of high-profile speakers so that these events can go forward unimpeded.”

The university also requested that if Coulter should decide to still come to the campus, that they not disclose the location until closer to the event and only students would be allowed to attend. She agreed to the conditions but told the university she had her own conditions, as described on YAF’s blog:

1) That the University of California chancellor request that the Oakland chief of police refrain from telling his men to stand down and ignore law-breaking by rioters attempting to shut down conservative speakers, as he has done in the past; and

2) That UC-Berkeley announce in advance that any students engaging in violence, mayhem or heckling to prevent an invited speaker from speaking would be expelled.

As Coulter explained, “If Berkeley wants to have free speech, it can have it.”

Slowly, very slowly, prominent Democrats are starting to admit the obvious: that Barack Obama’s presidency has been a disaster for their party, leading it to depths unmatched in the last 90 years. The figure of over 1000 legislative seats lost to the Republicans is but one marker. The absence of a bench, leaving the party’s congressional leadership with an average age in the seventies is a serious problem for a political faction dependent on the youth vote.

The latest Democrat to tell the hard truth while Obama is hiding from public gaze in the South Seas colonial domain of France — an odd choice for a dedicated anti-colonialist who speaks no French (or any other foreign language for that matter – is Keith Ellison, of all people. He is the deputy party chair of the Democrats, whose responsibilities include the ailing health of the Dems.
