The Obama administration’s massive shakedown of Big Banks over the mortgage crisis included unprecedented back-door funding for dozens of Democratic activist groups who were not even victims of the crisis.

At least three liberal nonprofit organizations the Justice Department approved to receive funds from multibillion-dollar mortgage settlements were instrumental in killing the ObamaCare repeal bill and are now lobbying against GOP tax reform, as well as efforts to rein in illegal immigration.

An estimated $640 million has been diverted into what critics say is an improper, if not unconstitutional, “slush fund” fed from government settlements with JPMorgan Chase and Co., Citigroup Inc. and Bank of America Corp., according to congressional sources.

(Sep. 21, 2017) — Three attorneys and the acting chief of the U.S. Justice Department’s Public Integrity Section have filed a brief in response to a federal judge’s request prior to an October 4 hearing concerning the criminal conviction of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joseph M. Arpaio.

The 85-year-old former six-term sheriff received a presidential pardon on August 25 which precludes sentencing from taking place. However, U.S. District Court Judge Susan R. Bolton scheduled the October 4 hearing to determine whether or not the conviction, which she alone decided to impose, should remain on Arpaio’s record or be vacated, as Arpaio’s attorneys have requested.

Islamic State propaganda disseminated online draws more clicks in the United States than in any country in Europe despite much-publicized counter efforts by Silicon Valley, according to a new report published Monday night.

Analysts from the Britain-based Policy Exchange think tank reported that over a six-month span beginning in February, the United States was the second most frequent location from which jihadist content was accessed online, preceded only by Turkey.

By a conservative estimate, ISIS produces about 100 items of new content each week, including execution videos and orders for suicide attacks, despite significant territorial losses in Iraq and Syria over the past year.

The analysts said ISIS penetrates western social media platforms through an online “ecosystem” in which content is first disseminated to its core followers through the encrypted Telegram app, and then dispersed by so-called “missionaries” across various mainstream domains such as Twitter and Facebook. The strategy enables the group to reach tens of thousands of users worldwide, many of whom are based in the United States.
