Bill Still interviews a Las Vegas casino security guard who debunks the official story of the shooting as a ‘big fat lie’. One of those lies is the statement by David Hickey, the union representative for Jesus Campos, who is said to be the security guard who was shot in the leg by Paddock. Hickey says that Campos did not need a state-authorized guard-card, but the guard being interviewed by Still says this is false. Furthermore, Las Vegas casino security guards do not have a union, which raises a question about Hickey who claims to be the union representative for Campos. The other lie told by Campos and Hickey is that Campos was treated at a ‘quick-care’ facility for his gunshot wound before driving to Mexico and back. This, too, is false, according to this interview. Quick-care facilities do not have X-ray machines or surgical equipment to treat such wounds and must send people to hospitals for that. Furthermore, a phone survey of all quick-care facilities in Las Vegas determined that Campos did not appear at any of them. [Although we do not think that signing a petition to the federal government to conduct an investigation of the Las Vegas shooting is a smart move, we do think that Still has brought to light important facts that seriously challenge the veracity of the official story about the shooting.] -GEG

Perhaps the most shocking revelation contained in the excerpts from former DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile’s book was, unsurprisingly, buried in a Washington Post overview of the various allegations (and frankly, we’re surprised the Post, given its status as a protector of the Washington establishment, deigned to publish it).

In the aftermath of Wikileaks’ decision to publish a cache of emails stolen from the DNC’s servers, Donna Brazile says she became increasingly paranoid about both possible Russian efforts to sway the election. Surprisingly, she says top Democrats initially instructed her not to discuss her concerns with others.

But even more than the Russians, Brazile says she feared possible retribution from shadowy elements within the campaign and the Democratic Party who might blame her for the leak. Her fears only intensified, she says, after the mysterious shooting of former campaign staffer Seth Rich, who the authorities said was killed during a robbery, though many so-called conspiracy theorists have speculated about a possible Democratic plot to kill Rich for his role in leaking the stash of DNC emails to Wikileaks. Brazile’s anxiety eventually spiraled out of control, to the point where she feared for her own life while serving as interim chairwoman of the DNC.

Las Vegas Police Department reports that an officer fired at least one shot during the investigation in Paddock’s hotel room. Also, it is now known that the hard drive was removed from Paddock’s computer, suggesting a desire to destroy evidence. The most significant report, however, is that radar tracked a helicopter that hovered at the rooftop of the nearby Delano Hotel moments after the shooting ended and then changed directions and sped away. The craft was broadcasting the identification signal for a Southwest Airlines passenger plane but, since passenger planes do not hover or change directions above hotel rooftops, it is certain that it was broadcasting a false signal to conceal its identity.
