UConn Spokeswoman: Gateway Pundit Reporter “in UConn Police Custody”

“ON CAMPUS”

The Post & Email

by Sharon Rondeau
11/28/2017

Excerpt:

(Nov. 28, 2017) — On Tuesday night, Gateway Pundit owner Jim Hoft wrote on his website that he did not know the whereabouts of his reporter, Lucian Wintrich, following an altercation at the end of Wintrich’s scheduled speech at the University of Connecticut (UConn) at Storrs and Wintrich’s subsequent arrest.

Earlier on Tuesday, Hoft published video footage from Wintrich’s speech, titled, “It’s OK to be White,” sponsored by the UConn College Republicans but ill-received by student attendees who barely allowed Wintrich to deliver his remarks over more than 35 minutes.

What net neutrality is (and isn’t)

====================================================

Internet Society
By Mark Buell Regional Bureau Director, North America
5/31/2017

Excerpt:

There are few Internet policy issues as divisive as net neutrality, neither are there many issues that apparently elicit such passion. At the root of the debate is, in my opinion, not necessarily the principles of net neutrality; rather, I believe it is in the mechanism used to enforce it.

While there is no single interpretation of what net neutrality is, there are certain accepted principles set forth by Timothy Wu (who coined the term in 2003) that are widely accepted. This includes the principle that all traffic on the Internet should be treated equally or ‘neutrally’ by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) without blocking, throttling or discriminating against a competitor’s content or services.

Over the years, almost all participants in the Internet ecosystem—from civil society and public advocates to the largest Silicon Valley tech companies to ISPs themselves—have come around to agreeing with this general version of these principles.

The Internet Society published a policy brief on net neutrality in 2015. In this brief, we outline how openness is a fundamental value that has contributed to the success of the Internet, both in the U.S. and around the world. We have always supported the values of a truly global and open Internet based on transparency, access and choice.

Democrat Conyers Threatens to Take the Whole Damn Swamp Down With Him!

Gateway Pundit

by Jim Hoft
11/26/2017

Excerpt:

The lawyer for Rep. John Conyers hinted the Michigan Democrat may take down “many others” with him if he is pushed too hard!

Via American Thinker:

Peter Hasson describes for the Daily Caller the remarkable vague threat emanating for the attorney representing John Conyers:

The attorney for Democratic Michigan Rep. John Conyers, who is accused of continuously sexually harassing his female staffers, defended Conyers by indicating that there are allegations against “many members” of the House and Senate.

Conyers’ attorney, Arnold E. Reed, released a statement defending the Michigan Democrat and pushing back against the “disturbing allegations.” The bizarre statement was written in all-CAPS and referred to both Reed and Conyers in the third person.

This could get fun.

MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ Crosses Line – Says GOP is ‘Party of Pedophiles’

Gateway Pundit

by Jim Hoft
11/25/2017

Guest post by John S. Roberts at Right Observer:

Excerpt:

The far left refuses to tell their base the truth because they prey on the weak and uninformed. MSNBC, for example, is the absolute worst. On ‘Morning Joe’ recently, John Heilemann claimed that if Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore is seated in the upper chamber, the GOP becomes the ‘party of pedophiles.’

From BizPac Review:

Morning Joe crossed the bridge from Trump opposition to blanket smear by calling the GOP “the party of pedophiles” due to Roy Moore allegations.

It’s one thing to determine women’s accusations against Moore are credible — the blockbuster WaPo report that started it all claimed 30 sources — but it’s another to say that a politician is proven guilty, and therefore, all Republican supporters sanction such behavior. Furthermore, it’s another category of insult to label the GOP the “party of pedophiles.”

Recently, President Trump said that Roy Moore denies that it happened, and emphasized that the accusations are coming out after forty years.

“I can tell you one thing for sure: We don’t need a liberal person in there, a Democrat,” Trump also said.

… 7 Things You Need to Know About Sanctuary Cities

Breitbart / Big-Government

by Ian Mason
11/23/2017

Excerpt:

So-called “sanctuary” jurisdictions are cities, counties, and now even whole states that have policies designed to hinder federal agents attempts to catch and deport illegal aliens.

Before your liberal relatives and guests start talking about how we need sanctuary policies “to build trust” and how the Trump administration’s efforts to rein them in are unconstitutional, here are seven big things you should know.

1. Sanctuary jurisdictions deliberately hamper immigration enforcement, and they’re growing.

Sanctuary cities in America started in the 1980s, when San Francisco began to protect criminals and arrestees held in their jails from what was then called the U.S.  Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). From that seed grew a body of over 300 cities, counties, and states that openly declare, in stated ordinances, policies, or state laws, that they will refuse to inform federal authorities about illegals in their custody, ignore Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) “detainer” requests and release illegals – even those still due back to face criminal charges – right back into the communities they were arrested in, or even prohibit their own employees and law enforcement officers, on pain of dismissal, to even ask about whether someone is an illegal alien.

The current controversy over sanctuary cities came when the newly inaugurated President Donald Trump issued his executive order on interior enforcement, claiming, “Sanctuary jurisdictions across the United States willfully violate Federal law in an attempt to shield aliens from removal from the United States.  These jurisdictions have caused immeasurable harm to the American people and to the very fabric of our Republic.”

The move immediately set off a wave lawsuits from sanctuary jurisdictions and inspired entire states to openly declare they will join the ranks of jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with ICE. These include the entire state of Illinois.

Former NYPD Officer Shuts Down Las Vegas Sheriff’s Latest Claim About Mandalay Bay Massacre

Gateway Pundit
by Joshua Caplan
11/23/2017

Excerpt:

It’s been nearly two months since the Las Vegas shooting and we still don’t have answers to the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history. According to Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo, gunman Stephen Paddock fired in excess of 1,100 rounds the night of the shooting

Las Vegas Review Journal reports:

The new total includes about 200 rounds fired from Paddock’s Mandalay Bay corner suite and into the hallway of the 32nd floor late Oct. 1, injuring hotel security guard Jesus Campos.

Lombardo was aware of the previously unreported total because the Metropolitan Police Department’s forensics lab is working in conjunction with the FBI to process all ballistics evidence from the mass shooting, which left 58 concertgoers dead and more than 500 injured.

Investigators have not determined why Paddock stopped shooting. Lombardo said they found about 4,000 more rounds of unused ammunition in the gunman’s suite.

John Cardillo, a former NYPD officer, isn’t buying the new claim.

“1100 rounds in 9 minutes, even with a bump-fire stock, from one shooter seems implausible. That’s 2 rounds/second not accounting for reloading, or any kind of malfunction. Tough to believe.”
