  • PROJECT VOTE SMART - A valuable aid in evaluating candidates for re-election

PROJECT VOTE SMART -- A valuable aid in evaluating candidates for re-election to public office.

In order to make significant progress in 'restoring individual liberty, the rule of law, and respect for the U.S. Constitution', MANY MORE AMERICANS MUST BE EDUCATED CONCERNING THE IMPORTANT ISSUES AFFECTING OUR COUNTRY AND WHERE THE CANDIDATES ACTUALLY STAND ON THESE ISSUES.

The typical, short, carefully crafted 'sound bites' by the candidates on 'TV' or in 'telephone robo-calls' delivered immediately prior to the election date are totally useless in providing truly helpful education to the public.

"THE VOTER' SELF-DEFENSE SYSTEM. Here at Project Vote Smart, Americans young and old volunteer their time, take no money from special interests groups, and are committed to providing you with the most relevant, unbiased information on over 40,000 candidates and officials."

I have found the Vote Smart listing identified below as being particularly useful in getting a quick picture of how candidates for national offices stand on the most important issues of interest to conservatives:

    • Interest Group Rating
    • Conservative
    • The New American - Positions on Conservative Issues

The website 'On the Issues' can also be used to learn information about a candidate's position on important issues.
