DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz Caught Lying: Whines About Obama Eligibility Ad

    Birther Report

    8/12/2012

    Excerpt:

"The Daily Caller: In an appearance on this weekend’s broadcast of “Fox News Sunday,” Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz denied knowing the political party affiliation of Priorities USA, a pro-Obama super PAC behind a controversial ad that accuses Mitt Romney of being responsible for a cancer death by inference.

“First of that’s a Priorities USA — it’s not a Democratic ad,” she said. “It’s a Priorities USA super PAC ad which we have nothing to do with it. I have no idea the political affiliation of the folks associated with that super PAC.”

Hot Air: Okay, Ms. Wasserman Schultz. We get it. Everyone in both campaigns has to pretend they aren’t coordinating with their friends, colleagues and relatives in the Super PACs to avoid running afoul of the law. (A law, by the way, which is working brilliantly, as long as none of the tens of thousands of political operatives, candidates and elected officials living today would ever consider being dishonest or deliberately obfuscatory.) But you’re seriously going to sit there on national TV and claim that you have no clue about the party affiliation of Bill Burton? You remember Bill, right? The former White House Deputy Press Secretary? I’m guessing this little episode has something to do with a new hashtag trending on Twitter… #DebbieDoesntKnow

Or perhaps the stress of the campaign trail is taking a toll on your memory. Try to take it easy for a while, Ms. Chairwoman. Remember… a mind is a terrible thing to baste.

CNN: Aboard Air Force One, campaign spokesperson Jen Psaki told reporters that the campaign had “no involvement with any ads that are done by Priorities USA.”

“We don’t have any knowledge of the story of the family,” Psaki said when asked about Soptic’s story.

On CNN’s Early Start Wednesday morning, Obama for America Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter also denied that she knew the details of Soptic’s story.

“Well, you do know that we don't have anything to do with Priorities USA,” Cutter told CNN’s John Berman. “That by law, we're not allowed to coordinate with them, and by law we don't have anything to do with their ads. I don't know the facts of when Joe Soptic's wife got sick or when she died.”

But in an interview with CNN on Tuesday, Soptic said that the campaign had asked him to appear at events on behalf of the president to talk about his experiences with Bain.“I was asked to fly to some of the battleground states, but I have been unable to do that,” Soptic said in a phone call.

On a May 14 Obama campaign conference call featuring both Soptic and Cutter, he even told an almost identical story to the one he tells in the new Super PAC ad.

Ibloga: ...[N]ot only did Joe Soptic deliberately mislead people about his story, the Obama campaign may have broken federal campaign law by coordinating with Soptic. When asked about any link between the two "We have nothing, no involvement, with any ads that are done by Priorities USA. We don't have any knowledge of the story of the family," Obama campaign spokeswoman Jen Psaki said on Wednesday.

Obama Campaign spokespersons Stephanie Cutter and Robert Gibbs both denied any knowledge of the facts surrounding Soptic's claims. Yet, there is a recording of Stephanie Cutter with Soptic discussing the issue in a May conference call with reporters...

HITC Politics: Carney claimed that there is no co-ordination between the Obama campaign and Priorities USA Action. But the founder of the Super Pac, Bill Burton, is a former White House spokesman, while David Plouffe, a senior White House adviser, was raising funds for the group earlier this year.

An Obama campaign spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, while briefing reporters alongside Carney on an Obama campaign flight this week, initially denied the campaign knew anything about Soptic. It later turned out that he had appeared in an earlier campaign ad.

Now to the Conservative Majority Fund Super PAC that is running the ad about Obama's forged birth certificate, missing college records, and his Connecticut social security number. DNC Chair Shultz claims the CMF Super PAC is connected to the Romney Campaign. However there is no proof whatsoever that that PAC is connected to the Romney campaign in any way, shape, or form.

PAC's and Super PAC's are required by law to report all donations and expenditures. Just follow the money and the PEOPLE!"
