Latasha Roundtree (19 years of age) was fatally wounded via firearm on September 22, 2012 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Roundtree was initially treated at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids and subsequently transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City where she died hours later on or about 3:00 AM September 23, 2012.

The fatal wounding via firearm occurred around 10 PM September 22, 2012 in the 600 block of 16th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids.

Roundtree was 2012 graduate of George Washington Senior High School in Cedar Rapids.

She had accepted an offer to play basketball at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Her mother, Angelia Roundtree, died in July 2006 when one of two cars drag racing along Mount Vernon Road SE in Cedar Rapids crashed into her vehicle.

February 2013:

Four young men (ages 18 thru 22) arrested in the 2012 homicide of Latasha Roundtree.

Jeremiah Akeem Ellis (18 years of age), of Rockford, Illinois, was arrested on February 26, 2013 by the Rockford Police Department and Cedar Rapids Police Department and charged with first-degree murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony and going armed with intent.

Tajh Malik Ross (18 years of age), of Cedar Rapids, was arrested on February 27, 2013 by the Cedar Rapids Police Department and charged with first-degree murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony and going armed with intent.

Liban N. Muhidin (20 years of age), of Cedar Rapids, was arrested on February 27, 2013 by Cedar Rapids Police and charged with conspiracy to commit a forcible felony, perjury and accessory after the fact.

Adrian Marcelis Kenney (22 years of age), of Cedar Rapids, was arrested on February 27, 2013 and charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony, trafficking in stolen weapons, perjury and accessory after the fact.

March 2013 - Fifth young man arrested in the 2012 homicide of Latasha Roundtree

March 2013:

Fifth young man (age 17) arrested in the 2012 homicide of Latasha Roundtree.

Yasin Muhidin (17 years of age), was arrested on March 28, 2013 in Rochester, Minnesota, on an unrelated warrant for second-degree sexual abuse.

On March 31, 2013 he appeared in Linn County District Court in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and was charged with first-degree murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit a forcible felony and trafficking in stolen weapons.
