Concerned about his crumbling legacy and unable to bear life out of the spotlight, the former president is in talks with Netflix “to produce a series of high-profile shows that will provide him a global platform after his departure from the White House,” as the\u00a0New York Times<\/a>, which got the scoop, put it.<\/em><\/p>\n

Let that sink in.\u00a0\u00a0The man is seeking to rewrite history, his own history, the better to influence the public to think he wasn’t such a bad president after all, through a television series about himself where he controls all the content.\u00a0\u00a0It shows how reluctant he is to let go of the reins of power and act the graceful role of retired president.<\/em><\/p>\n

Up until now, presidents have written their memoirs and then let history decide.\u00a0\u00a0Obama never liked America or its traditions much, so it’s natural for him to shun its presidential traditions \u2013 from his presidential portrait to his presidential library to his presidential memoirs to his refusal to go away.\u00a0\u00a0Through this Netflix project, Obama seeks an immediate propaganda platform for continuously preaching to the public in real time that his presidency was greatness itself, and thus influencing public perceptions just through coming into our living rooms each night.\u00a0\u00a0Netflix has 118 million subscribers.<\/em><\/p>\n
