The FBI\u2019s National Crime Information Center<\/a> (NCIC) is America\u2019s central database for tracking crime-related information, and interlinked with federal, tribal, state, and local agencies and offices.<\/em><\/p>\n

According to the NCIC, there were\u00a0465,676 missing children in 2016<\/strong>, an increase of nearly 5,000 since a year ago. Of the nearly\u00a025,000\u00a0runaways<\/strong> reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in 2017,\u00a0one in seven\u00a0<\/strong>were likely victims of child sex trafficking<\/strong>.
