Deporting illegal aliens is key to making America safe again. The Trump administration wants to go a step further. According to Stephen Dinan of the Washington Times, Homeland Security head Kirstjen Nielsen told the\u00a0Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday that her Department is preparing to arrest leaders of sanctuary cities.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Washington Times<\/a> reports:<\/p>\n

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen confirmed Tuesday that her department has asked federal prosecutors to see if they can lodge criminal charges against sanctuary cities that refuse to cooperate with federal deportation efforts.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Department of Justice is reviewing what avenues may be available,\u201d Ms. Nielsen told the Senate Judiciary Committee.<\/p>\n

Her confirmation came after California\u2019s new sanctuary law went into effect Jan. 1, severely restricting cooperation the state or any of its localities could offer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
