Under the proposed bill, the present level of immigration remains substantially the same\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Secondly, the ethnic mix of this country will not be upset\u2026 Contrary to the charges in some quarters, [the bill] will not inundate America with immigrants from any one country or area, or the most populated and deprived nations of Africa and Asia\u2026<\/p>\n<p>In the final analysis, the ethnic pattern of immigration under the proposed measure is not expected to change as sharply as the critics seem to think\u2026 The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>How have Kennedy\u2019s promises stood up to the passage of time?<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Fifty years later, the Census bureau predicts that the foreign-born population is set to increase <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/big-government\/2015\/03\/04\/census-immigrant-population-to-explode-85-percent-by-2060\/\">85 percent by 2060<\/a>, where\u00a0Hispanics will see their number grow by the tens of millions\u00a0and\u00a0native-born whites are the only group expected to decline in both absolute numbers and fertility rates.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Fifty years later, the U.S. places <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.immigrationpolicy.org\/just-facts\/how-united-states-immigration-system-works-fact-sheet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">no numerical limit<\/a> on the immediate family members of aliens admitted into the country. Despite holding only five percent of the world\u2019s population, the U.S. is the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/big-government\/2015\/03\/09\/reports-us-most-popular-destination-in-western-hemisphere-for-immigrants\/\">most popular destination<\/a> in the world for immigrants, <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.migrationpolicy.org\/article\/frequently-requested-statistics-immigrants-and-immigration-united-states\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">attracting 20 percent<\/a> of all the world\u2019s migrants.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Fifty years later, the U.S. allows some <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2013\/sep\/9\/nearly-20m-illegal-immigrants-us-ex-border-patrol\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">11 to 20 million illegal aliens<\/a> to squat on its territory while allowing <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.politifact.com\/florida\/statements\/2012\/jun\/20\/marco-rubio\/marco-rubio-says-us-admits-1-million-immigrants-ye\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">over one million more<\/a> each year\u00a0to legally enter the country.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Fifty years later, the native-born population of whites, blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Jews and all the rest suffer economic loss while the foreign-born <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/big-government\/2015\/03\/06\/total-net-employment-gains-in-the-u-s-since-the-recession-still-went-to-foreign-born\/\">see net job growth<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Fifty years later, Central American governments are propped up by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/big-government\/2014\/07\/08\/documents-migrants-sending-home-billions-in-remittances-boosting-central-american-economies\/\">$12.2 billion in\u00a0remittances<\/a> taken out of the American economy by foreign workers the U.S. refuses to tax or expel.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Fifty years later, Central American migrants, thousands of whom are <a class=\"x5l\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/storyline\/immigration-border-crisis\/minors-fleeing-central-america-face-shaky-transition-u-s-schools-n202171\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external\">indigenous Mayans<\/a> who can\u2019t write or speak even Spanish, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/big-government\/2014\/07\/15\/leaked-intel-report-219-of-230-migrants-interviewed-expected-to-receive-amnesty-permisos\/\">storm the border in endless waves<\/a>\u00a0while federal agents fly them to nearly every state in the union <a href=\"http:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/texas\/2014\/08\/22\/tsa-admits-illegal-aliens-boarding-planes-using-notice-to-appear-forms\/\">without so much as a photo ID<\/a> \u2014 while\u00a0American citizens are fondled and scanned by the very same TSA agents.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Fifty years later, we have\u00a0Rep.
