2009<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3.\u00a0 <strong>Senegal <\/strong>&#8211; 2013<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4.\u00a0 <strong>South Africa <\/strong>&#8211; 2013<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5.\u00a0 <strong>Tanzania <\/strong>&#8211; 2013<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tanzania geographically borders Kenya and it&#8217;s interesting to note some of the relatively recent history history of the area of land now known as Tanzania.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The country of Tanzania was formed in the year 1964 when the following two countries united:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">a.\u00a0 <strong>Zanzibar<\/strong> (NOTE: Zanzibar remains semi-autonomous)<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">b.\u00a0<strong> Tanganyika<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Both Zanzibar and Tanganyika were part of British East Africa, as was Kenya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">According to page five (5) the<\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong> Colonial Office Report on Zanzibar for the Years 1957 and 1958<\/strong>:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With few exceptions all who are born in the Zanzibar Protectorate or <strong>in the<\/strong><\/span><\/em><strong><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> Protectorate of Kenya <\/span><\/em><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">are by law subjects of His Highness the Sultan and are entitled, regardless of race, to claim Zanzibar nationality.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/subjects-of-the-Sultan-by-law.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4431\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/subjects-of-the-Sultan-by-law.jpg\" alt=\"Zanzibar subjects of the Sultan by law Kenya Protectorate\" width=\"542\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/subjects-of-the-Sultan-by-law.jpg 542w, https:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/subjects-of-the-Sultan-by-law-300x112.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 542px) 100vw, 542px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mombasa was situated within the Protectorate of Kenya when Obama was born (August 4, 1961):<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Zanzibar-report-with-map-of-Kenya-protectorate.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-4434\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Zanzibar-report-with-map-of-Kenya-protectorate.jpg\" alt=\"Zanzibar subjects of the Sultan by law Kenya Protectorate\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Zanzibar-report-with-map-of-Kenya-protectorate.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Zanzibar-report-with-map-of-Kenya-protectorate-300x168.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Below is a video Obama giving a speech in Tanzania (2013) with Tanzanian President Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/W2nmcAFZxLY?rel=0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I note here Obama&#8217;s opening remarks in above referenced speech:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;Thank you so much. Well, thank you so much, President Kikwete, for your very kind words and for the incredible welcome that I\u2019ve received here in Dar es Salaam. <strong>This is my first visit to Tanzania, but I feel a special connection to this country. Obviously, my family on my father\u2019s side is from East Africa. They spent some time actually in Tanzania.<\/strong> And so, the love Michelle and I and the girls have felt on our arrival, I want to assure you that love is reciprocated and given back in return. So, habari zenu.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;<strong>Now, President Kikwete was the first African leader I welcomed to the White House after I took office.<\/strong> I was pleased to welcome him to Washington last year for the launch of our New Alliance on Food Security. And as the President indicated, we had excellent discussions today. Our visits and work together reflect the long relationship between our countries and our shared commitment to the development and the dignity of the people of Tanzania.&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Please exercise your free speech in the comments section below.
