{"id":6118,"date":"2015-01-22T13:01:59","date_gmt":"2015-01-22T17:01:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/?p=6118"},"modified":"2015-01-26T21:34:50","modified_gmt":"2015-01-27T01:34:50","slug":"vanderbilt-professor-carol-swain-we-knew-so-little-about-obamas-background-not-native-born","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/vanderbilt-professor-carol-swain-we-knew-so-little-about-obamas-background-not-native-born\/","title":{"rendered":"Vanderbilt Professor Carol Swain: We Knew So Little About Obama&#8217;s Background; Not Native-Born?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nX_STQnCsKg?rel=0\" width=\"640\" height=\"350\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Thoroughly interesting video.<\/p>\n<p>To be fair, I think that when Professor\u00a0Carol Swain said &#8220;he&#8217;s not even a native born black man&#8221; she was saying that Obama isn&#8217;t a\u00a0descendant\u00a0of \u00a0African-American slaves.<\/p>\n<p>His mother was a white American and his father was a black African.<\/p>\n<p>Just before Swain made the native born comment she said that she wondered if America being destroyed is payback for slavery.<\/p>\n<p>It appears that she finds it ironic (and that objective minds 100 years from now will too) that the black man who destroyed America wasn&#8217;t even a descendant of Africa-American slaves.<\/p>\n<p>In any event, the video is still relevant and thought provoking.<\/p>\n<p>For the record, for many years now it has been my position that America is being destroyed and that this may be payback for slavery and for stealing the land of the indigenous Americans.<\/p>\n<p>Did you know that Abraham Lincoln was a veteran of the <em><strong>Black Hawk<\/strong><\/em> [Indian] <strong><em>War<\/em><\/strong> (1832)?<\/p>\n<p>The Sauk (or Sac) indigenous Americans were pushed out of Illinois and into Iowa. Black Hawk lead the Sauk back across the Mississippi River into Illinois to reclaim their land. This led to a war which they lost.<\/p>\n<p>Abraham Lincoln received a land-grant from the United States Government for his service in the Black Hawk War.<\/p>\n<p>Black Hawk County in Iowa (about 30 minutes from Cedar Rapids) is named after Black Hawk himself.<\/p>\n<p>I know white Americans in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin\u00a0who have had the same land in their family ever since it was taken from the indigenous Americans. They seem to be very proud of their land (most of it is farm land today) and they seem to think that they&#8217;ve earned it.<\/p>\n<p>They tend to put down black Americans and anyone else who isn&#8217;t white enough for them. They talk about the people who are on welfare and don&#8217;t earn their keep. \u00a0Some of them (not all) admire people like newly elected Republican Senator <strong>Joni Ernst<\/strong> of Iowa (Iowa&#8217;s first female US Senator).<\/p>\n<p>Joni Ernst, the new Republican Senator from Iowa, also likes to pretend that her family earned everything that they have even though after she was elected it was discovered that\u00a0between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inquisitr.com\/1777070\/joni-ernst-on-welfare-gop-senators-family-took-460000-in-taxpayer-handouts\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">1995 and 2009 the\u00a0Ernst\u2019s family received nearly a half-million dollars in government handouts<\/span><\/a>, payments targeted toward subsidizing farms with taxpayer funds.<\/p>\n<p>For people who consider themselves to be members of the semi-elite white class of America they are also, in context and relatively, some of most\u00a0intellectually stunted and extensively pea-brained people that I have ever met.<\/p>\n<p>For example, one of them told me that the Northern District of Iowa (US District Court) covers northern Iowa, south Wisconsin, parts of South Dakota and parts of Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>Wtf?<\/p>\n<p>When I told him that it didn&#8217;t (and that it&#8217;s called the North District of Iowa because it&#8217;s in Iowa) he became angry and aggressive, the tone of his voice raised and his eyeballs looked like where going to jump out of his outmoded eyeglasses.<\/p>\n<p>Another one of these people tried to tell me that counties in Iowa have only one source of revenue: property tax.<\/p>\n<p>When I mentioned (<strong>note<\/strong>: this is just one example of many different revenues available to counties in Iowa) the 1% <em><strong>Local Option Sales Tax<\/strong><\/em> that almost every county in Iowa collects he told me that there was no such thing or that it must be something that they only do in Cedar Rapids (Linn County, Iowa).<\/p>\n<p>Wtf?<\/p>\n<p>I went on to tell him that before Iowa raised state sales tax from 5% to 6% (in the year 2008) that\u00a0every county in Iowa <strong>except for Linn County (Cedar Rapids) and Johnson County (Iowa City)<\/strong> also collected what was called the<strong>\u00a0<em>School Local Option Sales Tax (SILO)<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>He said he&#8217;d never heard of a tax that we pay at the schools.<\/p>\n<p>Wtf and Lol.<\/p>\n<p>I told him that you don&#8217;t (or didn&#8217;t) physically pay the tax at the school. \u00a0You pay (or paid) it in sales tax.<\/p>\n<p>I then explained, again, that as of some point in 2008 that the school tax no longer exists because the state decided to add that 1% tax to the 5% state tax and make the state sale tax be 6%.<\/p>\n<p>I then explained to him again that there is also the\u00a01% <em><strong>Local Option Sales Tax <\/strong><\/em>which still exists and which we pay on top of the of the 6% Iowa sales tax. \u00a0Most sales receipts in Iowa (some exceptions for small districts within some counties) note a 7% tax.<\/p>\n<p>It should also be noted that this 1% local tax cannot be used for schools because the local school tax (which doesn&#8217;t exist since 2008) was made part of the state sales tax in 2008 by raising Iowa state tax from 5% to 6%.<\/p>\n<p>Something else that I&#8217;ve observed when speaking to these semi-elite white class of Americans who stole (their family stole the land, the land hasn&#8217;t ever been bought or sold, just passed from father\/mother to son\/daughter) is that if they don&#8217;t like something then it automatically becomes something &#8220;liberal&#8221; or something from liberals.<\/p>\n<p>I tried to explain to one of them that just because you don&#8217;t like something doesn&#8217;t mean that the thing or idea (whatever it is) is liberal.<\/p>\n<p>Please exercise your free speech in the comments section below.
