{"id":2757,"date":"2013-03-28T04:24:06","date_gmt":"2013-03-28T08:24:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/?p=2757"},"modified":"2015-04-08T13:01:36","modified_gmt":"2015-04-08T17:01:36","slug":"sheriff-joe-arpaio-interview-december-2012-with-gq-british-edition-magazine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/sheriff-joe-arpaio-interview-december-2012-with-gq-british-edition-magazine\/","title":{"rendered":"Sheriff Joe Arpaio interview (December 2012) with GQ British Edition magazine."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Each month, even if I&#8217;m not physically in the United States, I try to read, among other magazines, <em>GQ<\/em> (Gentlemen&#8217;s Quaterly) and <em>Esquire<\/em>. I particularly enjoy reading the British editions of each of these magazines. As a republican there are no stipulations that I must read only right winger periodicals or those with conservative political orientation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I do however acknowledged and concede that I ordinarily read <em>GQ<\/em> and <em>Esquire<\/em> for their fashion attire photography.\u00a0 For example, the other year I bought a pair of Lacoste&#8217;s Fairbrooke shoes after seeing them advertized in both <em>Esquire<\/em> and <em>GQ<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sometime shortly before Christmas, 2012 I appropriated (I didn&#8217;t but it) a copy of December, 2012 British edition of <em>GQ<\/em> magazine.\u00a0\u00a0 A scan of the cover is provided directly below:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-2759\" src=\"http:\/\/www.wasobamaborninkenya.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Esquire-Dec-2012-cover0001-763x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Esquire Dec 2012 cover0001\" width=\"290\" height=\"391\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This edition contains a Sheriff Joe Arpaio interview on pages 276 thru 281.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">At the outset of the interview I imagined that I would find some sort of reference(s) to Arpaio&#8217;s investigation regarding Barack Obama&#8217;s birth certificate or other eligibility and fraud related issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I was astonished, and rather disappointed, after I read the entire article without finding a single remark or reference to Barack Obama&#8217;s birth certificate or other eligibility related issues.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Moreover, Barack Obama&#8217;s name is only mentioned one (1) time throughout the entire interview and that is when, on page 278, Russian born reporter Evgeny Lebedev said,<\/span> <em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;In Phoenix, there&#8217;s only one candidate that anyone &#8211; love him or loathe him &#8211; has interest in, and it isn&#8217;t Mitt Romney or Barack Obama.&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Below is a shrimpy-sized list, <em><strong>a<\/strong><\/em> thru <em><strong>i<\/strong><\/em>, of notable data (to me at least) which I scrapped from the interview, although I&#8217;m somewhat certain that all of it has already been available online, some of it for a number years now:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>a.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On page 277 I learned that Sheriff Arpaio was 80 years old at the time of the interview.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>b.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">On page 279 I learned that Arpaio once worked for the DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency).\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;In 1957, he <\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">[Arpaio]<\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> was appointed a federal narcotics agent, finally being named head of the DEA&#8217;s Arizona branch.&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>c.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On page 279 Arpaio said, <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;I was Mitt Romney&#8217;s campaign guy for four or five years.&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>d.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On page 280 the reporter indicated that Arpaio once said the he, Arpaio himself, was honored when he was compared to the Ku Klux Klan. \u00a0<\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;The prosecution showed the court media interviews in which he <\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">[Arpaio]<\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> said being compared to the Ku Klux Klan was &#8220;an honour&#8221;&#8230;&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>e.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #000000;\">On page 281 I learned about a woman named <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.maricopa.gov\/dist5\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Mary Rose Wilcox<\/span><\/a><\/span>, a Maricopa County (Arizona) Supervisor<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">(Democrat)<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">who, after publicly challenging Arpaio&#8217;s behavior, was indicted on trumped-up corruption charges which a judge subsequently threw out as a blatant misuse of power by Arpaio.\u00a0 Wilcox also claims that Arpaio had her followed and harassed through the streets by gangs on motorcycles.\u00a0 She also claims that these Nazi-tattooed thugs harassed and freighted her and the clientele at a restaurant that she ran to the point that she finally had no choice other than to close the business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>f.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On page 281 I learned that it appears that Sheriff Arpaio is not a proponent of free speech.\u00a0 It appears that he does not advocate the right to free speech as he once had the co-owners of the <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Phoenix Times<\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> arrested after they published a story about him.\u00a0 <\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8220;The co-owners of the Phoenix Times were arrested at their respective family homes after the paper published details of the sheriff&#8217;s properties, including investments. The coverage resulted in subpoenas demanding a release of computer records, including those of anyone who had visited the New York Times&#8217; website and read the story.\u00a0 That case too was dismissed <\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">[as Mary Rose Wilcox&#8217;s case was dismissed]<\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> and a \u00a39m <\/span><\/em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">[<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">9 million British Pounds<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">]<\/span><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> lawsuit launched in response.&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>g.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On<\/span> <span style=\"color: #000000;\">page 281 I learned that at the time of the interview (December, 2012) Arpaio&#8217;s war chest stood at \u00a34.3 million British Pounds, much of which came from out of state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>h.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On pages 277, 278 and 281 I learned that actor Steven Seagal might Karate-chop you if you have a beef with his partner-in-crime Sheriff Arpaio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>i.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On page 279 I learned that Arpaio is originally from, and was raised in, Springfield, Massachusetts and that his father was born outside of the USA, in Italy.\u00a0 (Also I think his mother too was born in Italy although its not mentioned in the interview). \u00a0 I&#8217;m not sure if Arpaio&#8217;s parents were, or were not, full US citizens at the time of his birth but if Arpaio ever decides to run for US President I would advocate this being looked into and being taken into consideration by fellow brethren birthers when contemplating whether or not Arpaio is a Natural born citizen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Below I have attached scans of each page
