Final results from the 2012 presidential election were certified on today (Monday). 1,589,899 Iowans voted for president this year and that number is certified by the Iowa Executive Council. That number also indicates that upwards of 43,000 more Iowans voted this time around than in the 2008 election.<\/span><\/p>\n

Approximately 73 percent of all eligible voters in Iowa cast their vote in the 2012 presidential election.<\/span><\/p>\n

Barack Obama won Iowa with 822,544<\/strong> votes.<\/span>
\n Mitt Romney lost Iowa with 730,617<\/strong> votes.<\/span><\/p>\n
