Ever heard of Western Sahara<\/em>? It was a Spanish Colony (or Province) until 1975. I’m not too familiar with Western Sahara but it appears that in 1976 (after decolonization) it became the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic<\/strong> (SARD)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In and throughout 1976 thru present day (today’s date is May 8, 2022) the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SARD) has been recognized by at least 84 countries. It’s also a full member state of the African Union.<\/p>\n

The Biden administration officially recognizes the illegal invasion and annexation of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SARD) (or Western Sahara) by Morocco.<\/p>\n

The US is the only country to officially recognize the Moroccan conquest of Western Sahara. In December, 2020 (which Trump was still President) the United States recognized Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara in exchange for Moroccan normalization of relations with Israel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
