Reynolds, a Republican, said since Iowa’s attorney general, Tom Miller, is a Democrat, the state wasn’t asked by the group of Republican attorneys general forming an amicus brief in support of the suit.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For the simple fact that Tom Miller is a Democrat, Iowa was not notified or asked to be a part of that brief,” Reynolds said Thursday morning on “Need to Know with Jeff Angelo,” a talk show on WHO-AM (1040). “We weren’t given the opportunity to sign on in support of that.”<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reynolds said her office has “rectified that going forward” and that the state will receive notification in future instances through her office’s legal counsel, Michael Boal. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“If this is something that comes up again, they’ll be sure to notify Iowa and give us an opportunity to weigh in on it,” she said.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
