Trump said that the previous \u201cDemocrat president\u201d should be scrutinized.  \u201cLet\u2019s look into Obama the way they looked at me,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He then said the actions of Obama\u2019s first secretary of state and Trump\u2019s 2016 Democrat opponent, Hillary Clinton, should be \u201clooked into.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In early 2011, Trump called for the White House to release Obama\u2019s \u201clong-form\u201d birth certificate to prove he was constitutionally eligible to serve as president.  On April 27, 2011, the White House posted an image it said represented Obama\u2019s original birth record from the Hawaii Department of Health.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the result of a criminal investigation launched later that year, the image was pronounced a \u201ccomputer-generated forgery.\u201d  Obama\u2019s Selective Service registration form was declared fraudulent at the same time.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
