I bought this Ugandan newspaper in December 2009.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Daily Monitor (newspaper in Uganda). January 21, 2009. President Obama.<\/a> <\/object><\/p>\n

The January 21, 2009 paper edition of the<\/span> Daily Monitor<\/strong><\/em><\/span> newspaper consists of 48<\/span> pages all of which can be viewed in the above embedded scribd.com (Patriot1980) PDF.<\/span><\/p>\n

This newspaper was printed in Uganda the day after Barack Obama was sworn in as de facto President here in the United States of America.<\/span><\/p>\n

The writeup in this newspaper,\u00a0covering the story of Barack Obama becoming President (de facto) of the United States of America, is not nearly as interesting as was the writeup in Kenya’s The Standard<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nevertheless, I deemed this newspaper worthy of document preservation.<\/span><\/p>\n

This time around I don’t have a list of thought-provoking quotes and data from the newspaper.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I welcome the curious and adventurous readers of this blog to quote, in the comments section below, any and all thought-provoking data that they can gather from this newspaper.<\/span><\/p>\n

I do want to note, amusingly, that there are several interesting baby footprints located on page 13.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also there is a oddly titled article on page 10, <\/span>Obama eats chief: Why we didnt see him cooking<\/span><\/em>, in which the writer speaks candidly about white people, and ‘evil white people’.\u00a0\u00a0 Includes a short discussion regarding William Shakepeare<\/strong> indicating that he was a north African Arab writer called Sheikh Sepia<\/strong> and that the mzungas (in this case that is white Europeans) stole his works.<\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally I want to point out that we should probably expect accusations of forgery from Obotopian readership because this newspaper references the name of Muammar Gaddafi<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 I’ve often read strange internet lore about Obotopians (Obama robot bloggers) believing that, in Africa, a person’s name only has one spelling.<\/span><\/p>\n

I want to thank, gimongously, Bruce Steadman<\/strong><\/span> for covering all costs incurred in digitizing this newspaper and for making it possible and feasible for the entire world to now have access to the January 21, 2009 edition of the Daily Monitor<\/em><\/span> newspaper.<\/span><\/p>\n
