On July 31, 2016, former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe directed agent Peter Strzok to open a counterintelligence investigation dubbed \u201cCrossfire Hurricane\u201d to spy on the Trump Campaign. The evidence? A phony dossier filled with salacious but unverified claims about Donald Trump that was bought and paid for by the Clinton campaign.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time in American history, a candidate for the country\u2019s highest political office was allowed to use America\u2019s intelligence apparatus to spy on an opponent.<\/em><\/strong> The agent in charge of surveilling candidate Trump, Peter Strzok, was the same agent who was later caught saying he\u2019d \u201cstop\u201d him from ever becoming president.<\/em> — (bold emphasis added in two paragraphs above)
