The\u00a0Wall Street Journal\u00a0has published a lead editorial Wednesday evening in which it argues the Democrats\u2019 effort to destroy Brett Kavanaugh has reminded anti-Trump conservatives that the left hates them even more than it hates the president.<\/em><\/h2>\n

The\u00a0Journal further argues that the left has unified Republicans \u2014 a seemingly impossible task, given internal divisions over Trump \u2014 by reminding them that Democrats\u2019 hatred is not about Trump, but about the raw desire for power at any cost.<\/em><\/p>\n

As such, the\u00a0Journal editorial board \u2014 which once derided the Tea Party as \u201cHobbits<\/a>\u201d \u2014 writes, \u201cWe\u2019re All Deplorables Now<\/a>\u201c: Judge Kavanaugh would have been on any Republican\u2019s short list for the Supreme Court. \u2026<\/em><\/p>\n

Mr. Trump\u2019s nomination of Mr. Kavanaugh is a credit to the process he established to win the election and govern with conservative support. He sought the help of legal elites on the right, led by the Federalist Society, who compiled an impressive list of potential nominees. This isn\u2019t a rogue judicial operation to choose presidential cronies. It is the gold standard for legal talent that believes in the original meaning of the Constitution. It\u2019s hard to see how any GOP President would have done better, and others have done much worse.<\/em><\/p>\n
