During the election season, a bizarre persona appeared online calling himself \u2018Guccifer 2.0\u2019 and claimed to be the source of Democratic National Committee emails that were being published online. Twelve Russian military officers have now been indicted over involvement with the account.<\/em><\/p>\n

Given the new indictments, we feel it is worthwhile to revisit some of the conversations that the shadowy persona had with both myself and model Robbin Young.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

In a now-public<\/a> direct message conversation with Young, the flirty \u201chacker\u201d claimed that his source was Seth Rich, the DNC staffer who was murdered around the time when the leaks began.<\/em><\/p>\n

During the early morning hours of July 10, 2016, the 25-year-old Director of Voter Expansion was shot multiple times in the back. Rich\u2019s murder was quickly ruled a failed robbery, but his wallet and watch remained on his body. The only thing that appeared to be taken was his life.<\/em><\/p>\n

Almost immediately after news broke of his killing, rumors and speculation that he was the source of the emails leaked to WikiLeaks flooded the internet. The leaks had revealed that the Democratic Party was conspiring against Hillary Clinton\u2019s opponent Bernie Sanders, leading many to speculate that that leaks were from an upset supporter of the Vermont senator \u2014 and that the disenchanted staffer may have been Rich.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Wikileaks theory gained even more traction after WikiLeaks offered up a $20,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of Rich\u2019s killer.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Rich family and the police dismissed speculation that he was the WikiLeaks source and that the murder had anything to do with the Democratic Party, despite never naming a suspect.<\/em><\/p>\n

Tucked within multiple exchanges between Guccifer 2.0 and Young, he casually mentions that his source was named \u201cSeth.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The conversations between Young and the hacker had been casual and flirty until August 25, 2016, when Guccifer 2.0 told her that he was looking for a \u201cperson of trust who can be a guarantee in case anything happens.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s a thing that doesn\u2019t leave my mind making me feel sad every day,\u201d Guccifer 2.0 told Young.<\/em><\/p>\n

Young laments that she has the same feeling, as the two of them cannot go on a date. The hacker explains that while this makes him sad, he is also upset about \u201cone whistleblower of mine and my assistant.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d like to find a journalist who can do an investigation and teel [sic] the real story of his life and death,\u201d Guccifer 2.0 told the model.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cHis name is seth, he was my whistleblower,\u201d Guccifer 2.0 said. \u201cI suppose u know who I\u2019m talking about.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cYes, and it was horrifying to hear about his death. I have no facts, but my opinion is Hillary had him murdered,\u201d Young responded.<\/em><\/p>\n
