In a remarkable appearance Wednesday, Rudy Giuliani said Donald Trump had indeed repaid the money used to buy Stormy Daniels\u2019 silence about their affair, and that Trump had indeed fired then-FBI Director James Comey because Comey wouldn\u2019t tell Trump that he wasn\u2019t under investigation.<\/em><\/p>\n

Both statements contradict the story the president himself and his White House have previously offered.<\/em><\/p>\n

Giuliani\u2019s appearance with Sean Hannity\u2014one of the first by the former U.S. attorney since he joined Trump\u2019s rapidly assembled new legal team, which has promised a tougher response to special counsel Robert Mueller\u2019s probe\u2014left the Fox News host and frequent Trump adviser and enabler openly stunned.<\/em><\/p>\n

In an appearance stuffed with odd factual errors, like saying no president had ever before been subpoenaed, and sweeping claims about \u201ccriminal\u201d Hillary Clinton and \u201cdisgraceful liar\u201d and \u201cpervert\u201d James Comey, Giuliani flat out said<\/a> Trump had paid back the money shelled out to buy the porn star\u2019s silence, and that there was no problem there.<\/em><\/p>\n
