I don’t know all there is to know about Romney but I have never trusted him, he’s too slick, too phony.
I do know that his great-grandfather, a practicing polygamist, fled the US to Mexico with his several wives and children. Did they ever file for Mexican citizenship? Probably not since Mexicans & Americans jumped back & forth across the border as though it didn’t exist. They would have been simply ex-patriots. One of his sons, Gaskell Romney (Mitt’s grandfather) was born in Mexico. Born in Mexico to American parents, he was a dual citizen, at best. Gaskell grew up in Mexico and married a girl of like backgound, born in Mexico to American parents. Their son, George, (Mitt’s father) was born in Mexico. Gaskell fled Mexico to the U S to escape the revolution. Mitt’s father was born in Mexico to dual citizen parents. Dual citizenship is not inherited, therefore George was always a Mexican citizen and probably an illegal. He later ran for the presidency, a position he could not legally hold. He is most likely not even an American citizen because his ancestors always considered themselves American and ignored immigration laws.
George and his American wife are the parents of Mitt. With his Mexican father and his American mother, he is a dual citizen. He is therefore ineligible for the office of Presidency.

In addition to the above, we have a man from a family that runs away from problems and ignores the laws of the land. They seem to have no loyality to any country, only to their own desires and creature comforts. I want a president who loves America, tells the truth, has good morals and good leadership qualities. Mitt lacks much of that.

You have got to be kidding me. The most qualified person we have ever seen run for President and all we do is tear him down. For those interested in TRUTH: http://whyromney.com. Romney is the ONLY candidate who can hold Obama to his record… that’s what he has done professionally for over 25 years! Romney 2012!!!

  6. Darin Southam says:

Like attracts like… anyone for Newt I must assume is like him and his past speaks loudly for itself. Seems, though he loves to talk about his buddy Reagan, who mentions him ONCE in his biography saying nothing of their “relationship”, Newt was also buddy buddy with Nixon and if you ask me he is a spitting image of what Nixon espoused. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0112/71684.html. So like attracts like and I HAPPILY associate with Mitt Romney.

    @ Darin Southam:
Darin, This thread was started with “the Romney Book,” all about his background. My comments were made on that subject.
My intent is not to tear Romney down. I do want to explore the probability that he may be ineligible to hold the office of POTUS. If, as I believe him to be, ineligible, we cannot allow him to take the office.
As to my opinion of him, I have a right to dislike him, just as you have the right to like him.
I don’t know why you had to bring Newt into this conversation. The thread is about Romney, not Newt. If you wish to discuss Newt, try starting a thread about him.

  11. DGroundhog says:

Not a fan of Mittens but I haven’t seen an argument that would convince me was NOT a natural born citizen.

Mitt didn’t lead after Obama was elected. Palin led. Paul Ryan led. McConnell and Boehner led. Trump even led – but he led us down a dark alley and we got mugged. Mittens hid. You may not agree with how or where they led – but they put themselves out front on major policy discussion time after time.

This appears to be the McCain campaign’s book on Romney from 2008. McCain endorsed Romney (as expected) so I doubt this came from McCain or those loyal to him. So it probably came from someone in that campaign who ‘went rogue’. This was released back in November just a few weeks after Palin announced she wasn’t running.

Palin kick-started Newt’s resurgence with her ‘steel sharpens steel’ endorsement and appears to have stopped the Mittens coronation. Wouldn’t surprise me a bit to find their team was behind this.

  12. ARNOLD CARL TAPP says:

THE ONLY THINGS WE HAVE TO REMEMBER ARE THE POWERFUL POINTS IN
NEWT GINGRICH ‘ S PLATFORM . ” THE 21st CENTURY CON TRACT WITH AMERICA ” , ” STRONG AMERICA NOW ” , BAN SHARIAH , TAX REFORM , OPPOSES THE U.N. AGENDA 21 , INDICT CAIR AND HAMAS , DEFEND OUR BORDERS , SAVE MEDICARE AND SOCIAL SECURITY , RETIRE THE NATIONAL DEBT , REFORM FOREIGN AID , DEVELOP OUR OWN OIL & GAS , DECLARE ENGLISH AS THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE , REPEAL THE FRANKENSTEIN HEALTH CARE BILL AND EVERYTHING ELSE PASSED BY obummer ( PLUS MORE ) RON REAGAN ‘ S SON HAS ENDORSED NEWT .

ALL VOTERS MUST ALSO CONSIDER THAT MITT HAS $ 30,000,000 HIDDEN IN BANKS OF THE CAYMAN ISLANDS .

    @ DGroundhog:
I don’t know Mitt’s exact citizenship status at this time. As I stated above, he was born in the US and his mother was an American citizen. However, I question his status because his father was born in Mexico as a Mexican citizen. My question arises from the question, “Did his father achieve American citizenship before Mitt was born?” In fact, did he ever achieve it? We do know The Romney’s always considered themselves American, even after several generations of living, dying & giving birth in Mexico. The question must be, “Was Mitt born to 2 American citizen parents or was he born to 1 American citizen & 1 Mexican citizen?” The answer to that question determibnes whether Mitt is a natural-born & eligible to be potus or dual-citizen born & ineligible for the office.
After all the hell we have raised concerning bho’s birth status, we cannot in all fairness, not ask the question.

  14. DGroundhog says:

    @ Phyllis:
Mitt’s father was born in Mexico to a US citizen so he was born a US citizen from what I have read. (not a NBC to my understanding of the definition but still a US Citizen)

WND had an article about it maybe a month back and declared him eligible. I actually think there is a bigger question with Santorum (who I do support along with Newt). Santorum’s father immigrated from Italy but he hasn’t released the naturalization papers. It might be possible that Santorum’s father was not a US Citizen at the time of Rick’s birth.

It has gotten downright scary the number of candidates whose eligibility is in question and still there is no proper verification process in place.

“It has gotten downright scary the number of candidates whose eligibility is in question and still there is no proper verification process in place.”

    — Which may be the MAIN REASON the Republican Establishment is fighting so hard to have the eligibility issue regarding BHO-II FOREVER BURIED!

  16. Phyllis says:

    @ DGroundhog:
I know you do excellent research and I trust what you say. Perhaps you can find something to tell us just how many generations a family can be born in & live in a country before being citizens of that country? I ask because it could determine Mitt’s eligibility. We have…
Great-grandfather– Miles Romney- born in US, fled to Mexico–American ex-pat
    Grandfather–Gaskell-born in Mexico–dual American/Mexican citizen
Father–George- born in Mexico–Mexican (entry into US legal or illegal?)
Mitt-Born in US–possible dual American/Mexican citizen, depending on father’s legal standing at the time of Mitt’s birth.
I really would like to know exactly what his status is, if dsifferent than what I believe it to be.

    Thanks for looking this up.
It may be acceptable but I have to say, jus sanguinis should not be accepted as a way to give one natural-born citizenship status, especially when determining presidential eligibility. It allows for the blood of the parent but does not consider the soil of their birth. They have ties to another country, something the founding fathers tried to prevent. However, it does clear up the status of Mitt. Thank you.
    (P S…I still don’t like him. LOL)
