The following is a scan of a sales receipt from Egghead Software dated April 23, 1988.
Egghead Software was founded in 1984 (or perhaps 1982, according to this) by Victor Alhadeff.
It appears that Egghead was a brick-and-mortar store for the years 1984 thru 1998 with 200 stores located primarily on the west coast. Their first store was located in Bellevue, Washington.
It appears that at some point beginning in the year 1988 they were are online retailer only and in the year 2001 they were purchased by Amazon for $6.1 million dollars.
Egghead.com now redirects to Amazon.com's software department.
I recently found the old receipt when opening the packaging of an old (still in the box) Graphy joystick 600 for Apple II, IIt, IIc and IIe computers (also for IBM PC).
The receipt is from Egghead's brick-and-mortar store that was located at 7129 Greenback LN, in what may have been located in Sacramento at the time but is now Citrus Heights, California.
Telephone number listed on receipt is 916-721-6550.
The only reason that I've made note of the receipt is for the benefit of anyone researching Egghead Software. Perhaps a tangible record from the company, such as this receipt, may be of some help.
