I checked out both of the links you provided (http://www.kisskissbankbank.com/mokele and http://mokele.fr/en).

It appears that they just had an expedition in July 2013 (http://mokele.fr/en) where anyone could join for a fee (a large fee but certainly worth it!).

I will keep my on the referenced websites as well as this forum thread.
