Redux: Open Debates 2016 Requires Presidential Candidates To Be Natural Born Citizens

    Birther Report

    5/20/2015

    Excerpt:

As reported here back in 2012 the Commission on Presidential Debates was required to determine if presidential candidates met the "natural born Citizen" requirement under Article II of the U.S. Constitution. As many know they ignored their duty in 2012 by allowing a non "natural born Citizen" to participate in the presidential debates.

Likely due to the fact that the Obama administration had personal ties to the Commission on Presidential Debates.

Ballot Access News reports the CPD is seeking public comment on who should be allowed to participate in 2016.

Will the CPD do it again and ignore their own criteria? Leave your feedback here.

Independent Voter Project confirms what some of us knew. The CPD is not nonpartisan as they claim:

Open Debates 2016 published similar criteria for participants in the 2016 presidential debates.

    IVN reports:

OpenDebates2016.com’s Nonpartisan Candidate Selection Criteria For 2016 General Election Debate Participation

    [...]

The mission of the nonpartisan OpenDebates2016.com is to ensure, for the benefit of the American electorate, that general election debates are held between the candidates for the office of President of the United States who have met our criteria for inclusion.

The goal of OpenDebates2016.com’s debates is to afford the members of the public an opportunity to sharpen their views, in a focused debate format, of those candidates/parties that have been disenfranchised by the Commission on Presidential Debates.

In connection with the 2016 general election, OpenDebates2016.com will apply two criteria to each declared candidate to determine whether that candidate qualifies for inclusion in one or more of our debates. The criteria are (1) constitutional eligibility and (2) ballot access. All criteria shall be satisfied before a candidate will be invited to debate.

    [...] Continued @ IVN.

Will they stick to their guns and require debate participants prove their Article II constitutional eligibility?
