THE GREAT DAVE BRUBECK visited Turkey with his group and heard the music there with a strange rythm and count , then he composed " RONDO ALLA TURK " inn the unusual signature of 9/8 ( 9 eighth notes per measure ) . it has been one of my favorites for many years .
