Issa says he is moving forward with contempt charges against Holder

    Examiner

    Anthony Martin, Conservative Examiner
    4/18/2012

    Excerpt:

"In response to numerous critics who have claimed that Congressman Darrell Issa and the Republican leadership in the House have dragged their feet in holding accountable those who have lied to and stonewalled Congress in the Fast and Furious scandal, Rep. Issa told the Washington Times today that he is moving forward with contempt charges against Attorney General Eric Holder.

Issa had threatened Holder with a contempt of Congress citation unless he turned over to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform thousands of documents Holder has withheld that have been subpoenaed by Issa in his investigation into the scandal.

Several deadlines passed without any action on the part of Issa. And there were reports that House Speaker John Boenher had interfered in the Issa investigation, telling the Congressman to back off of the Administration in the matter.

But today Issa told Kerry Picket of the Washington Times that he is moving forward with his plans to charge Holder with contempt, but that the process is complicated and lengthy:

“We’re going through a process,” said Congressman Issa. “That process is going to take weeks but not months more.”

According to Issa and Senator Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, who is investigating the scandal in the Senate, Holder has turned over only ten percent of the subpoenaed documents necessary for Congressional staffers to conduct their investigation.

A showdown occurred in January of this year when Issa issued a specific deadline for the receipt of the rest of the documents--Feb. 9.

The deadline came and went with no action on the part of Holder or anyone else in the Justice Department.

Based upon numerous documents, emails, phone records, and other communication received by reporters from ATF whistleblower agents and others within the government, Fast and Furious was the brain child of various individuals within the Obama Administration who have a long history of opposing the right of individual citizens to keep and bear arms.

These include but are not limited to Hillary Clinton, Janet Napolitano, Robert Mueller, Eric Holder, and various individuals within the Department of Justice and the ATF, including the U.S. Attorney's Office in the District of Arizona.

At least 2500 U.S. guns were deliberately sent across the border to Mexican drug cartels by the ATF. Gun stores along the southern border were told by ATF agents to cooperate with the operation by making sales to 'straw purchasers'--those who would make purchases of guns and ammo on behalf of those who are not approved to make such purchases, such as cartel members.

No attempt was made to trace the guns or drugs despite the claim made by Administration officials that this was the motive behind the operation. Instead, the ATF allowed the guns to get lost in Mexico after being transferred to the cartels. Later, those guns began to show up at numerous crimes scenes in Mexico and the U.S., including the murder scenes of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and ICE Agent Jaime Zapata.

When the operation was first implemented in 2009, Administration officials, including Obama, Clinton, Holder, Napolitano, and certain Congressional and Senate Democrats such as Dianne Feinstein, made the erroneous claim that "90% of the guns used by Mexican criminals come from the United States." And while the Fast and Furious scheme was being conducted, this was the meme being oft repeated by the Administration.

But the ATF's own internal documents proved that such a claim was false.

The fact that the Administration used "the 90% lie" when it implemented Fast and Furious and that it continued to use the falsehood after the whistleblowers came forward is proof, say the whistleblowers, that the motive for the entire scheme was to create false gun statistics that could then be used to attempt to justify renewed calls for gun bans and gun control laws in the U.S."

Tales From Fast And Furious: The Murder Of An American Citizen And Obama’s Radical Views On Guns

    The Western Center for Journalism

    Kris Zane
    4/18/2012

    Excerpt:

"Part 1 of a video series based on the recently published groundbreaking book Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal and Its Shameless Cover-up by Katie Pavlich. This is the book that may blow the lid off of the Obama Administration’s covert plan to disarm America and may bring down the Obama Presidency.

The murder of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry by Mexican drug cartel operatives armed with AK-47s was initially billed as an isolated tragedy, which then took a different turn when we learned that the purchase of the gun used in Terry’s murder was facilitated by our own government. The Obama administration narrative was that this was the work of a rogue ATF office, that it was simply a “botched” gun-walking operation. But this was no accident. In this first video, Obama Files takes us through the night that Brian Terry was murdered, then looks at Barack Obama’s long history of opposing the Second Amendment that led to an illegal gun-walking program and murder of one of our own."
